Lovely, very peaceful garden behind the house - super exquisity and excellently put together. really enjoyed my time here. The house is quite exquisite too. unfortunately no photos were allowed. from the garden
The small hall and garden were open for a limited period when we visited. A guide brought us into the hall and gave us a talk about the history of the site and garden whilst the group ahead viewed the garden. When they finished we were ushered to the garden. The guide again pointed out details of the garden and explained their relevance. I don't know if they were able to offer any information to people who couldn't understand Japanese. Kiyomizu-dera was packed as usual but here just a short distance from the main temple it was peaceful and serene. Sadly photography was not permitted. If you have the chance to visit, please do.
手鞠灯籠、誰が袖手水鉢など優品が多く配置されている。基本的に公開されていないし、公開されたとしても撮影はできない。

Probably one of the best and most authentic things to see in Kyoto. It was open only for a few days during autumn but there was barely anyone visiting and the garden was extremely calm and peaceful. The house in itself is quite nice as well even though there’s not much to see. Unfortunately no photos allowed
