Jonni is a terrific host the house is very clean and nice, Jonni is very welcoming.He even laughed at my terrible jokes.
Jonni is a fantastic host and made me feel the most at home that I’ve felt while in Japan. Great house, clean, very friendly and kind! Also close to the train station to get into Kyoto/Osaka easily while still being right on Lake Biwa. Can’t recommend any higher!
Jonni’s place is a lovely house, make you feel home and cozy. very quiet environment,and location is very convenient. Can’t wait to come back for next new year again!
自転車ビワイチ旅行で一泊させていただきました。ご主人のジョニさんはイギリス人。私は夜8時過ぎの到着でしたが、とても優しく親切に迎えてくれました。日本語でユーモアいっぱいでお話、楽しい人。室内には着物を飾ったり、琴もあり日本文化を愛してくれていて嬉しく感じました。清潔で素敵なお家でした。翌朝は勝手に出発して良いですよ、と言われてジョニさんに挨拶もせずに出てしまいましたが、コーヒーや冷やした緑茶を用意してくれていたり、細やかな心遣いに心温まりました。ジョニさんお世話になりありがとうございました。
First, don't worry about English. Jonni speaks a wonderful English ! (Probably due to the fact that he is a foreigner raised in England 😜). In this guest house, you will have a feeling of " home sweet home". Second, make no mistakes, if the outside of the house looks like a normal house in Sakamoto (a place with many temples around to visit and traditional japanese specialties, Jonni has 2 e-bikes to rent) the inside of the house is super high-tech with amazing innovative ways to fight against covid-19 (you'll be surprised and fully reassured with the impeccable professionalism of your host). Also, WiFi, specific plugs with USB port, big TV in the living room with possible access to netflix, amazon prime... comfortable sofas, refined decoration, all-equipped kitchen, washing machines, dryers... Finally, If you need a quick ride (and what a ride ! Surprise again ! 😉) to the closest station or supermarket, you may ask Jonni for some arrangements in advance.
We had a wonderful time with Jonni. The house is modern, very clean, comfy and offers everything I need as a traveler. He always picked us up from the train station and the bicycles allowed us to explore the surroundings. Jonni was always helpful and gave valuable tips for our trip. The best accommodation I have had in Japan so far.
Jonni es un excelente anfitrión. Servicial, educado y muy agradable. Fue mi primera vez visitando Japón y nos hizo muy buenas recomendaciones. La casa de huéspedes es limpia, cómoda y sutilmente decorada al estilo japonés. Me sentí como en casa!

とてもきれいでよかったです。いつもは外国の方が多いようです。オーナーのJonniさんは、イギリスの方で、とても優しくてフレンドリーな方です。英語が少しでもわかる方なら日本人にもおすすめです。（民泊なので、サービスには星をつけませんでしたが、問題はありません。）
