ハンマーで叩いて熱した鉄を成形する、貴重な体験が魅力です。
ペーパーナイフづくりを通じて、親子の絆を深められました。
先日は大変貴重な体験をさせていただき、ありがとうございました。改めて日本の技術、職人さんの技を間近で見させていただきました、感動しました。世界的に認められたこの技術を、何千年先に繋いでください。
My son booked a Japanese sword-forging event with Masahiro sensei, about one hour from Kyoto station, not far from Kameoka. Tsukawaki-san, our paid interpreter, was part of the group helping us with the language barrier.Suffice to say this was an incredible learning experience. Not just a hands-on one that included all steps to make a beautiful knife, but also one where we learned specifics about Japanese sword-making history and tradition.Masahiro sensei was very friendly and open. Tsukawaki-san added many bits and pieces to round up the experience. This was the highlight of our trip.
日本刀好きな彼女へのプロポーズで指輪と一緒に渡そうと思い予約しました。刀鍛冶の方もとても気さくな方で一から十まで丁寧に説明してくださったので問題なく制作できます‼️座学も日本刀についての知識が深まるいい座学でした。特に一般的な基準だけでなくご主人の刀に対する考え、熱意も伝わってくる説明が個人的にはとても気に入りました😄フランス人の観光客の方と座学から制作まで一緒だったのですがその人にもしっかりと丁寧に英語でアドバイスしててご主人の人柄の良さも気に入りました。立地としても山の中ではあるものの車でも行きやすく専用の駐車場もあり電波も問題なかったので良かったです！今回作成した小刀をプロポーズで渡す旨を話したら小刀を渡すときの照明などのアドバイスまでいただけたのは嬉しかったです♪今年の夏に向けてのプロポーズの準備になりました‼️ありがとうございました😊
Went in July and was the highlight of our family trip to Japan. Absolutely amazing experience. This is an excursion/day trip that cannot be rushed. Plan to spend an entire day here (including travel time--we were heading here from Kyoto). Also, pay for the upgrade to include a translator...while Sensei Masahiro has limited English and is very helpful, you will benefit greatly by hiring the translator (we do not speak any Japanese) who was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly!The experience allows you the opportunity to forge a knife completely from scratch using original, Japanese style sword-making techniques. Our two older teenage sons loved this experience and enjoyed learning and creating their blade with Sensei. You get to spend time in his actual home/workshop environment, which is set in rural Kyoto (Kameoka area). The scenery alone is breathtaking, and you will have a bit of downtime to take breaks and walk around while the blades are cooling.Again, I can not recommend this experience enough. Some advice:- Travel time getting from the transit station to his workshop takes time. You will likely need to get a taxi from the transit station to take you to the workshop directly. However, there were not many taxis at this station, and we had to ask for assistance to call one. The taxi driver arrived promptly and took us directly to the workshop and then arranged for our pickup to return to the transit station hours later...very helpful and necessary.- Bring lots of water... we went in July...and you're around blazing fire...need I say more? There is a nearby grocery store that is a 10- min walk from his workshop that we found super helpful and had just what we needed to tie us over for a few more hours.- This activity is definitely age appropriate for older teens and up...not suitable for young children/toddlers/babies. Younger ones can tag along but will not be able to partake. Please be safe in this environment... not a place for them to run around in his workshop, etc.- Give yourself an entire day for this. Our booking time was at 1pm and we didn't arrive back in Kyoto till 7pm or so.Book this experience!!

玉鋼を原料に鍛冶体験ができます。日本刀は玉鋼でしか作れない。そして現在玉鋼を作っているたたら場は日本で一つだけで、貴重なんです。そんな玉鋼で造った小刀は、ちょっと怖い（刀に魂が宿る的な意味で）ような気がしていたのですが、明るくて「陽」の雰囲気の先生が教えてくださったので、小刀もなんだか陽気なものが出来上がった気がします。こういった体験は、「体験」といってもちょっと触るだけで、ほとんど先生が仕上げるものが多いと思うのですが、ここでは割とがっつり体験させてくださいます。もちろん、先生がしっかり仕上げてくださらないと小刀にならないのですが、それでも「刀鍛冶の体験をした」と思える程度には体験させてくださり、貴重な体験になりました。

ハンマーで叩きながら、熱した鉄を成形していくのは楽しい経験でした。人懐っこい柴犬もいて、大満足です。

妻が計画してくれたバースデー旅行の一貫で体験してきました。なぜ、刀匠が鍛錬した日本刀が高値なのかわかる体験です。単に日本刀が魅せる曲線美が値をつけるわけではなく、刀匠がかける手間や苦労がどれだけ価値を持つか、がわかる体験です。それがわからない凡人は受けてほしくないくらいの価値をもつ体験です。刀匠の先生は愛想はすくないですが、懇切丁寧に教えてくれます。でも、それぞ【職人】です。質問にはしっかり答えてくれます。また、体験しにいきたいです！
