長岡駅の駅前ロータリーにある火焔土器モニュメントは見逃せません。
ウマタカ遺跡で初めて発見された火焔土器が展示されています。
本物と同じサイズのレプリカもあり、実際に触れることができます。

The actual "flame pottery" that was first discovered at the Umataka Ruins is on display. There is also a replica of the original, the same size and weight, that you can actually touch. The Umataka and Mitoinaba Ruins are located on the river terrace on the left bank of the Shinano River, with Umataka on the east side and Mitoinaba on the west side. Many surveys have been carried out at this site, and along with the remains of numerous dwellings and hearths, flame pottery, crown-shaped pottery, jeweled ornaments, and large clay figurines have been unearthed.2025/12/21
