Oku cabins are a hidden gem!! The cabins themselves were equipped with everything you need for a self-contained week at the snow including a kitchen, lounge area, spacious bathroom, and comfy beds! Luke and Annie were absolute legends and provided some great local tips including restaurant recommendations, onsens and the best ski runs. They were very responsive to any needs including grocery supplies and clearing snow. We enjoyed the secluded environment, waking up each morning surrounded by beautiful snow filled forest. Cannot wait to visit Oku again
Had the most incredible time staying at Oku Cabins Madarao. We were so well looked after by Luke & Annie. We had a lot of snow and poor Annie spent hours clearing paths to make sure we had access to our cabin. She was also a wealth of knowledge on the area and they were very accommodating with us sending gear prior to our arrival. The cabins are really well set up with everything you need and you cant beat the amazing hot showers after a day on the slopes. We look forward to visiting again!
Oku Cabins, Madarao is a beautiful ski destination in Japan and would highly recommend for those seeking something off the beaten track. The cabins are so cosy to come home to after a day on the slopes and well equipped. Annie & Luke were super helpful with local knowledge and nearby services
I’ve been coming to the snow in Japan for 15 years. First time in Madarao and absolutely loved our stay at Oku Cabins. Beautifully designed and styled log cabins, and perfectly located close to the mountain. The hosts were fantastic — warm, knowledgeable, and gave us all the right local tips (including skiing and boarding trips as they are both very accomplished).It’s also an ideal base for visiting nearby resorts. Comfortably the best cabins we saw in Madarao. We’ve already booked again for next year.
斑尾高原はよく来ますが、初めてメルクマールさんを利用させてもらいました。大きなホテルより自由度が高く、家族だけでゆっくり快適に過ごさせてもらいました。
駐車場からログハウスまでは少し距離があり、坂になっているので食材などが多い場合は自力で運ぶのに手間がかかりますが、管理されているご夫婦が手伝ってくれます。対応はとても親切です。ログハウスでは食事は出ませんので外食か自炊になります。コンロは電気式なので加熱に時間がかかかりますが、オーブン、電子レンジ、電気ポットもあるので工夫しながら調理が楽しめます。一点、携帯電話の電波が届きにくいため、通信が出来ないことが多いです。Wifiがあると良かったなと感じました。

We had a fantastic time staying in one of the one bedroom chalets this year in early February. Luke and Annie were incredibly accomodating and we really enjoyed our stay. It was convenient to stay within either a short walk or drive to the resort (we drove because we were lazy), and a great base to ski at other near by resorts in Myoko and Nozowa Onsen.There were 2 of us staying and that was more than comfortable, there was room for a 3rd from a sleeping point of view, but may have been slightly tight downstairs when chilling on the couch, but is doable. Would reccomend this place for sure.
