The Nook is the perfect little place ! Homely feeling the second you walk through the door. The staff are awesome and go out of their way to make sure you’re looked after!Make sure you grab a beer and enjoy their pizza’s, they are unreal!Cheers, can’t wait to return !
I recently stayed at The Nook Hakuba and had an awesome experience overall. The shuttle service worked really well for me,The rooms were really clean I had no issue with the place at all, the dry room was exceptional very lovely place for my gear. The staff made it a good atmosphere to be in, made me feel at home, BIG MENTION TO CLAUDIA SHE WAS LOVELY…… 100% recommend this place to anyone who comes in hakuba.
We honestly could not have asked for a better place to stay than The Nook Hakuba. From the moment we arrived, everything felt warm, welcoming and beautifully organised.It is definitely family-friendly, which made such a difference for us travelling with kids. The space is cosy yet modern, super comfortable, and thoughtfully set up for a snow trip. After long days out in the cold, coming back here was all we wanted to do.One of the standout features was the free shuttle into town, absolute game changer! It made getting around so easy and stress-free, especially with the kids and snow gear.The fact that there’s a bar onsite and breakfast included was another huge bonus. Starting the day with breakfast ready to go before heading out was so convenient, and being able to unwind at the bar in the evening was the perfect way to end the day.The hosts and staff were amazing, so friendly, helpful and genuinely caring. Nothing felt like too much trouble.We made such beautiful family memories here and would 100% stay again. If you’re coming to Hakuba and want somewhere comfortable, convenient and welcoming, this is it.Thank you for an unforgettable stay 🤍❄️
The Nook is the best place to stay in the valley hands down! The crew create a family vibe which made us feel right at home. The rooms are spacious with cozy beds and heating. The shuttle service is excellent. The dry room has plenty of space. The bar window had frequent visits from kamoshikas and snow monkeys. We loved it so much we extended twice. Can’t fault the team, the facilities or the breakfast and pizzas!
Trust me, this place is a must stay in hakuba. The best crew that will bend over backwards to ensure your stay is comfortable and memorable.The facilities are great with a dry room, comfortable beds, stretching room, bar and great pizzas and beer on tap at affordable prices.A shuttle will take you to and from hakuba bus terminal every 30 minutes in the morning and hourly in the afternoon and into the evening.Great experience
I had an unreal experience staying at The Nook, everything was super convenient, the beds comfortable and the showers everything you want. The owners and staff are very easy going and quick to include you into their little family making my ski experience so much better. Thanks Guys
We absolutely LOVED our stay at The Nook. We stumbled on this new lodge at short notice and have had the most wonderful time here. We cannot recommend Lachie and his staff highly enough. Everyone has been SO kind, helpful and friendly. The beds are incredibly comfortable, our rooms were generously sized and warm and the shared bathroom facilities are new and clean. We ate in at the lodge on multiple nights and can highly recommend the Pizza’s. The shuttle to and from the bus terminal runs regularly and on time and makes getting to and from the ski resorts a breeze, it’s also perfect for getting into town for dinner. You can organise your ski rental at the lodge through Rhythm who will pick you up in a shuttle and take you to and from their store, at the end of the stay they will also just collect your gear from the boot room!We honestly couldn’t speak more highly of The Nook. Most of all though, we absolutely loved the staff. They were all so friendly and willing to have a chat whether that be on the shuttle, tips for where to ski or have dinner or just hanging around in the dining room. Every one of them, at some stage during our stay, went above and beyond to make this holiday one we will very fondly remember. I hope we can come back in the future and see how this lodge grows!

They go above and beyond to make your stay seamless, whether it’s helping with transport, lift passes, restaurant recommendations, or local tips. Their knowledge of Hakuba and passion for hospitality really shine through.The location is also excellent—close to the ski fields, restaurants, and nightlife, yet still quiet enough to feel peaceful. Whether you’re visiting Hakuba for skiing, snowboarding, or simply to enjoy the mountains, The Nook Lodge is a fantastic base.Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort, great vibes, and outstanding service in Hakuba. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
The nook was the best hospitality ive experienced in japan, the staff is super genuine and made our trip a lot better. Super comfy beds and cozy rooms and awesome bus service to town.

We had to cancel our booking due to a change in our family’s travel plans, and I wanted to leave a review because of how wonderfully the owners handled it.Despite having a strict no-cancellation policy and having turned away other enquiries because of our booking, they waived the cancellation fee entirely out of pure goodwill.Throughout our exchanges they were warm, responsive, and genuinely family-oriented. They went out of their way to offer solutions for our large group with young children, including discounted rooms, a kids’ games room, and direct pick-up/drop-off to the Iwatake and Happo-One ski fields.If this is how they treat guests who cancel, I can only imagine how well they look after guests who stay. We’ll absolutely book with them when our kids are older, and I’d recommend this lodge without hesitation to any family visiting Hakuba.
