伽藍礼門の特徴
石畳みの奥に美しい山門が見える、奈良市の名所です。
令和7年4月28日には、ボタンが見頃を迎えます。
玄奘三蔵に捧げられた八角形の堂が魅力的です。
「玄奘三蔵院伽藍 礼門（れいもん）」は、奈良市の薬師寺にある玄奘三蔵院伽藍（げんじょうさんぞういんがらん）を構成する重要な門で、伽藍の“正面玄関”にあたる建築です。
Yakushi-ji Genjo-Sanzoin Garan Precinct Raimon Gate is the symbolic entrance to the Genjo-Sanzoin Garan complex, a modern addition to the historic Yakushi-ji Temple in Nara, Japan. Constructed in 1991, this complex honors the 7th-century Chinese monk Xuanzang (Genjo-sanzo), renowned for his extensive travels to India and Central Asia to obtain Buddhist scriptures. The Raimon Gate, with its traditional architectural design, serves as a threshold between the main temple grounds and the sacred space dedicated to Xuanzang. Beyond the gate lies an octagonal hall enshrining Xuanzang’s relics and a gallery featuring murals by artist Hirayama Ikuo, depicting the monk’s journeys. The gate thus stands as a testament to the enduring cultural and spiritual connections between China and Japan.  
令和7年4月28日、門の入口でボタンが見頃です。めずらしい双頭のボタンのツボミを偶然撮りました。
薬師寺本堂のほうから参拝すると、石畳みの奥にとてもかたちのよい山門がみれます。

周辺のオススメ
南側の広い通り。この景色はおそらく千年前の人が見ていた景色と同じという話。それは現代の地域住民や行政が協力して、電柱、アンテナ、高層建物、送電線、全てが見えないように配慮しているのだそう。この広場を掃除されていた僧？に教えていただき、ちょっと感動。
