We had an absolutely fabulous experience. Yamazaki-san put in an additional floor upstairs to make room for an office. Not only does it look like it’s always been there, the entire experience was great. He’s super responsive and has an amazing eye for detail, so we were able to get exactly what we had hoped for. Cannot recommend him highly enough! We ended up making additional requests as construction went along and not only did he accommodate us, he did it all incredibly skillfully. We asked him to repaint our stairs, which sounds easy but involved stripping the old paint off and getting the stain just right to match the new tatami border (which he also put in for us). It took days and a lot of effort and I am pretty certain anyone else would have flat out refused from the beginning. But he did it so ridiculously perfectly, I now adore my stairs and they’ve become a real designer piece. The sheer amount of customizing we were able to do is amazing. Again, I cannot recommend highly enough. We’ve already asked him to do another project for us, that’s how happy we were with what he did for us.
