This house is located in the peaceful area of Ogimachi, about a 15-20 minute walk from Takamatsu's central station. It's a quiet town where you can closely observe how Japanese people live. While it's a bit of a walk to the port and downtown Takamatsu, there's a direct bus service, which was convenient. Staying in this cozy old house, where it felt like the Itoyori family actually lived, was truly special. Itoyori was incredibly kind and helpful, offering recommendations for nearby restaurants, cafes, and hot springs, and even making reservations for places that only spoke Japanese! Thanks to her, I was able to visit all the local shops that tourists wouldn't know about. The Hawaiian cafe and ice cream shop are especially worth a visit! Next time I visit Takamatsu, I'll definitely be staying here again :)
It is a warm and charming place filled with history and memories. The wooden decorations and artwork throughout the house showcase many thoughtful details. The owner is very hospitable and always willing to help, even sharing recommendations for local restaurants and sights to visit. We had a wonderful week in Takamatsu and will definitely be back next time.Time: 2025/8/10-2025/8/16
An Airbnb guest house. Highly recommended with a quiet neighborhood and cozy space. I stayed there for two nights and attended Setouchi art festival.
The Ritsurin Garden apartment is a sweet traditional home on a quiet tiny lane opposite a playground. It is close to a train station and the stunning Gardens. We used this as a base to visit Naoshima and Teshima Islands, hike for 5 days on the Shikoku88 temple route and experience the design and conceptual art of George Nakashima and Isamu Noguchi. This area has one of the best collections of Tadao Ando buildings. Takamatsu is a vibrant and small scale city to experience Japanese life. The hosts were kind and very responsive
What a historic wonderful place. When you enter you are pleasantly surprised with a traditional flat with artistic touches everywhere. It was recently renovated with new tatami and bathroom. Super clean and stocked with plenty of coffee and tea. Dimmable lights and very comfortable, cozy beds. The neighborhood is very quiet but with many good restaurants near by. The host was extremely helpful and kind and gave us many great recommendations for the city.

The landlord is very kind and recommends lots of great places to eat. The property is about a 15-minute walk from the station. It might be a bit dark at night, but it's very safe. The room is also warm and comfortable. Overall, it's excellent value for money! Highly recommended.
