Abbiamo avuto una bellissima esperienza soggiornando qui durante il nostro Kumano Kodo. L'alloggio si trova in una posizione fantastica, nel mezzo di una vallata tra le montagne e a fianco a un fiume. I proprietari sono stati gentilissimi e premurosi, e non ci hanno fatto mancare niente. Tra cena, colazione e lunch box abbiamo mangiato tantissimo e benissimo, con numerose portate cucinare con i prodotti coltivati direttamente dai proprietari. Poi prima di partire per la camminata finale del Kumano Kodo, il proprietario ci ha "benedetto" il cammino facendo una preghiera alla montagna, il che è stato molto suggestivo ed emozionante. Non posso che suggerire caldamente a chi è in procinto di organizzare il proprio Kumano Kodo passando per koguchi di affittare questa casa. Io e la mia compagna ringraziamo nuovamente i proprietari per l'attenzione e la cordialità che ci hanno dimostrato
Went there on decembre 25. We (2) loved our stay before hiking. Very impressive hospitality, extremely nice people. The dinner was made of local produces, delicious, and filling ! perfect for those who hike. I was also very interested in the local religion, the shugen do, and the host explained it to us, and even blessed us with a musical prayer in the morning. Would highly recommend before the ogutomori goe.
I would give this place more stars if possible. This stay was the highlight of my trip to Japan and the Kumano Kodo. The hosts were so friendly and took amazing care of us. The hot bath and tea ready when we arrived was perfect. The dinner and breakfast was so incredible and exceeded all of our expectations. I am vegan and gluten free, and they did an amazing job accomodating my dietary requirements. The homemade plum wine is a must! We were picked up and dropped off at our trail. The prayer before we left was so beautiful and such an honour to witness. We will be recommending this spot to everyone.
Best accommodation on our Kumano Kodo journey. The hosts were so kind and welcoming, they explained how everything worked and cooked the most amazing food. A nice personal touch was the welcoming message on the blackboard. The place had a very pleasant rustic atmosphere and the nature around was breathtaking.
This was probably the best stay in Kumano so far. The hosts were very nice, kind, and welcoming. They serve such good and fresh food (from their own farn).The place was absolutely gorgeous. The bathroom is outside. Very clean & cozy.They came to pick us up when needed and dropped us off aswell.Would reccomend staying here for your trip!!!
Magical stay in KoguchiMy partner and I can safely say that staying at Kumaano Farm and Guesthouse after a beautiful day on the Kumano Kodo was the highlight of our Japan trip. The hosts are incredibly welcoming and kind and we felt right at home from the moment we set foot in our accommodation. The food was absolutely delicious, the room was cosy and the location next to the river was beautiful. Most of all, we appreciated everything about how the owners conducted our stay, from guiding us around each part of the room and sending a prayer to the mountains for a safe journey for our hike the next day. Cannot recommend this accommodation enough.
This place is nothing short of amazing. It is set next to a river and soothing sounds of water will recharge you instantly. We had the best sleep of our trip and didn't want to leave! The tub was already filled with warm water, and you can enjoy the view of nature. The hosts were equally amazing, a lot of the food came right from their garden and their warmth and hospitality were unforgettable.Come here for an experience of nature, detaching from city life, and the best of japanese hospitality. You won't regret it.
After a day of hiking we were picked up at the end of the trail by Nirav. When we arrived at the guesthouse we couldn’t believe our eyes, it was so spacious and beautifully located. The guesthouse is next to the river, so we had a lovely cold plunge and the hot bath was ready for us too. This place was the highlight of our Japan trip, the hosts are super super lovely and the food they prepared for us was outstanding! The dinner and breakfast twas amazing,and we had a hard time finishing all the delicious courses. You should try the homemade plum brandy if you are here. If we would ever be around again, we will definitely stay here!
The best stay along our Kumano Kodo journey without a doubt. It is very rustic but incredibly clean and well equipped. A lot of the food was grown on site and cooked to absolute glorious Japanese perfection! The outdoor wood heated bath with private view of a waterfall provided much needed relaxation after our long walk.We are considering turning around to do the walk again backwards just so we get another night here! The hosts were lovely!

We stayed at Kumaano Farm and Guesthouse during our Kumano Kodo trek, and we honestly have no words to fully describe how excellent and genuine our experience was.Starting with the owners — they are some of the kindest, most caring and helpful people you could ever meet. The place itself is simply amazing, with its own unique vibe and atmosphere.There is no Wi-Fi, but you honestly won’t need it. Instead, take a relaxing bath in the outdoor hot tub, listen to the sound of the river flowing nearby, and enjoy the beautiful greenery surrounding you. It’s the kind of place where your body and mind can truly rest and reset.The food was more than great, and the portions were very, very generous! We loved every part of our experience and would absolutely stay here again.Thank you so much for creating such a special place and for making our stay so memorable!
