小規模で多様な国籍の生徒が一緒に学ぶ楽しい雰囲気の道場です。
師範の吉江さんは素晴らしいお菓子作りも得意で、心温まるおもてなしを提供します。
What an absolute joy it was to take Aikido classes at Chiseikan Dojo. Yoshie and Phil are such wonderful, warm, welcoming and very skilful teachers. It is amazing how much my husband and I have learned during our - too short- 2 month's stay in this wonderful city that is Kyoto. The fact that the groups are small and mixed Japanese and "global" students makes the experience so much more interesting. The manner in which Yoshie and Phil teach is such that you always come away with this great feeling of achievement and encouragement. Detailed attention to each student, picking up and correcting positions, moves make that every lesson feels like another step forward. I have met some wonderful people and leaving them after two months of training together was very hard and very emotional. It is amazing how training together crosses over all ages, nationalities and languages. We had so much fun speaking to each other in or own language but still understanding each other.So thank you Yoshie and Phil for this amazing experience, and for all your help. We loved it, are so happy to have discovered this wonderful sport that is Aikido - which we will continue to practice in Italy - and cannot wit to train again at Chiseikan Dojo. I attended the beginner's Aikido taster session today and I was really impressed.Yoshie and Phillip were really welcoming and friendly, and explained everything really clearly and patiently. It was a really warm atmosphere and I definitely intend to go back.The classes are a mix of foreigners and Japanese of different ages and sizes, so it's suitable for everyone.I highly recommend trying it out!
Absolutely fantastic, lovely teachers Yoshie and Philip, very patient and clear. Also a really nice group of fellow students, a mix of all ages, some japanese speaking, some not, like me.
Went for my first aikido lesson today and appreciated learning from Yoshie sensei and Philip sensei. They explained in English and demonstrated the moves with such patience. I especially appreciated learning about the history and ethos of their practice and dogo. Highly recommended.

女性の師範による丁寧で分かりやすい稽古が特徴の道場です。一般的にイメージする武道の道場とは少し違い、和気あいあいとした雰囲気で合気道を学ぶことができます。上級者の方はまだ少ないので、体力に自信がない方や、女性でも週一回から気軽に参加できると思います。
師範、副師範、ともに優しく丁寧な指導をされています。生徒一人ひとりの成長をきちんと見てくださっており、できる技が増える実感を持ちながら楽しく合気道に取り組むことができます。
I have been training with智誠館道場(Chziseikan Dojo)for about 18 months since moving to Kyoto. Aikido is a very interesting and enjoyable martial art, I have never done this kind of training before. (I'm 62)The teachers of the Dojo are very knowledgeable and very supportive of their students. I can highly recommend this challenging training.
