Great Italian restaurant in a quiet part of Kyoto, located within a hotel. First impressions were that the lighting is too bright and unwelcoming, it feels as though this place would have a much better dinner vibe if the lighting were more ambient.However, the food was just excellent and so much better than we had expected. Although this place is new, the menu was very good with a lot of options and great portion sizes.We had the steak and the bolognaise which were both really good.There’s a ¥500 (£2.50) cover charge but this includes unlimited free bread so feels very fair.All in, our bill came to £55 for starters, mains and dessert with wine and sparkling water. This is great value for the area and we would definitely come back if looking for something simple but satisfying!
