お酒の品揃えが本格的で、特にクリスマス酒が絶品です。
A lovely little hidden gem. This sake bar is run by someone who is passionate about sake and hand picks the offerings. I dropped 50,000 yen for coins up front so that I could snack and drink my way through a variety of options, but many offerings were less expensive than this.The sake on offer was truly unique. Given it is the holidays I had to try the Xmas sake, and I also had #5 on the menu twice since it was so good (and also the owner's recommendation). The food was filling and delicious, and matched well with what I was drinking.It's also worth trying the different shaped cups as they do offer different flavour profiles as they lay the sake onto your tongue. A very cool experience!This place is pretty new, and is located in a very old building that is absolutely lovely on the inside.Next time I Kyoto I will definitely be dropping by!
古銭をチケットがわりにしていてとても面白い日本酒屋さんです。置いてある日本酒もこだわりがあり、日本酒好きなら見逃せないお店です。
京都出張の際は必ず寄りたいBarお店の雰囲気がよく、勧められるお酒🍶も最高に美味い。
京都の古民家を改装したバーです。最初に店内通貨であり江戸時代に流通していた「寛永通宝」を購入し、それで商品を注文するシステムです。京都の町屋の雰囲気、日本各地の日本酒、そしてそれに合うおつまみ、どれも素晴らしかったです。日本酒やおつまみは店内通貨1枚(¥350)から注文することができ、気軽に楽しむことができました。私が行ったのはプレオープン中でしたが、正式なグランドオープンは2025年11月21日(金)とのこと。京都に来られた方は時間があればぜひ一度足を運んでみてください。
入るまでは少し緊張しましたが中の昔ながらの建物の雰囲気がものすごくよくマスターの人柄もよかったので楽しむことができました。とても良いサービスでしたが店の位置が少しわかりにくかったので4にしました。サービスは間違いなく5だと思います。
Wir sind zufällig auf diese Bar gestossen, da ein Mitarbeiter draussen mit einem Licht uns einen Flyer gezeigt hat. Als wir die Bar betreten haben, waren wir sehr positiv überrascht. Es ist eine sehr stielvolle bar, welche das traditionelle Japan als Konzept hat. Wir konnten alte Japanische Münzen kaufen um zu bestellen und haben verschiedene Sake probiert. Der Eigentümer war sehr freundlich und er hat eine sehr tolle Bar erschaffen.Super fanden wir, dass man an der Bar die Schuhe ausziehen muss.Vielen Dank für dieses tolle Erlebnis.
ひっそりと佇む古民家。しじまのネーミングにピッタリのお店。日本酒初挑戦のかたにも懇切丁寧にオーナーが説明してくださり良い空間の中で日本酒に触れ合う素敵な時間でした。
京都旅行の夜に立ち寄りました。昔ながらの京町家をリノベーションしたバーで、雰囲気がとても良いです。日本酒初心者でも店主が丁寧に説明してくれるので安心して楽しめました。外国人の友人にもおすすめしたい隠れ家的なお店です。
One of the best places I’ve visited in Japan and one of the best experiences I’ve had in Kyoto. A speak-easy & unassuming sake bar that is situated in a hundred year-old house. I have lots of great things to say about this place.1. Concept of the barThe place is called “Shizima” which translates in english to stillness or profound quietness. The name makes a lot of sense given the ambiance of the place - there’s an antiquity vibe that stirs calm yet meaningful conversations.You also have to exchange your money/yen for old coins or concept coins in which you will use as currencies to purchase drinks and food items within the bar. Quite quirky I would say! The coins seem pretty interesting as well.2. Curation of the drinksI am no sake connoisseur but the selection of sake here is very amazing. But what’s really amazing is the curation of sake that they served us.My friend and I ordered a “sake set” (IDK the term LOL) and yet we were served sake drinks that are different from one another. My hunch is that the owner picks a sake for the customer based on their taste, preference, or even his impression of the person.Snacks/foods that are served along the sake pairs and matches perfectly with the drinks as well.We were also served a shellfish soup after our drinks.3. The peopleThe people at the bar are one of the most amazing human beings we’ve met! We’ve enjoyed our conversations with them.I think I still have lots to say but definitely visit the place if you’re looking for a niche and interesting experience. And nice sakes too!
