I had an amazing experience getting a "Kato" haircut in Kyoto! The stylist was incredibly skilled and took the time to listen to exactly what I wanted. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming, and the attention to detail was outstanding. I left feeling refreshed with a perfect haircut that suited me perfectly. Went in first thing when opened on a Sunday. He took me right away for a beard trip. This is the second time I’ve gone to a barber and the experience was wonderful. If looking for a quick easy trim this is the place to go
Superb experience and excellent haircut! First time getting my haircut in Japan and it was the best experience. Very friendly barber who spoke a little English and made me feel very welcome. Highly recommended!
Getting a haircut can feel like hard work, but this relaxing barber was a surprise treat. (Usually not walk in, but you might be lucky like I was.) The skilled barber listed and understood what I wanted and then got to work. An hour later — with a brief shoulder massage, beard trim and hair wash along the way — all was done. Very happy to get tidied up. Will return next month…

This was one of my favorite experiences in Kyoto. I always try to visit a new barber shop when I travel overseas and this one over delivered. Amazing service, incredibly skilled barber, and pleasant conversation. I hope to make it back some day
