Would recommend this to anyone. An absolute beginner but was put at ease and made to feel welcome by Gael. The moves are explained with great patience in English, Japanese or French! Language is not an obstacle to self-defence. The atmosphere is one of helping, the 'good guy' and 'bad guy' work together to help each other improve.
I know coach Gael Dur for more than 15 years when we trained together and competed in tournaments in Taiwan. Over the years, he has continuously refined his jiu-jitsu skills. Even in the beginnings, he was already a very talented fighter.Now, Gael is running his own academy in Shizuoka and is focusing on the original purpose of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu: self-defense. He believes that the Gracie Combatives program, which is well-structured and practical, better serves his community.This is a mature and enduring project that I highly recommend! Amazing team and skills, bilingual classes in japanese and english (or french if needed) at the only certified Gracie Combatives school around!🥋
Coach Gaël and the students are amazing. If you are looking place to learn Jiu Jitsu in Shizuoka this is the place to go. If you’re looking to do a drop in visit there’s a hotel 5 min away.
格闘技まったくの素人から始められます。暴漢・ストリートファイト・警護に対応できるスキルが身につきます。女性専用のプログラムもあります。理論的なプログラムに沿って徐々に進めていくので初心者からでも安心して始められます。
小学一年生の息子が年長の頃より通っています。いくつか習い事をしていますが、この柔術教室は楽しいから続けたいと言っています。先生は日本語、英語も堪能の為、子供の語学力向上にも繋がるのでオススメですよ。
My son joined the kid's jiu-jitsu class, and I am thrilled to share our wonderful experience with all of you. This class, aimed at young martial artists, exceeded our expectations in every way possible.First and foremost, the instructor was outstanding. He possessed a perfect blend of expertise, patience, and a genuine passion for teaching martial arts. Our instructor created a safe and supportive environment that encouraged every child to explore their potential while fostering discipline and respect. It was truly inspiring to witness how he interacted with the kids, ensuring they felt motivated, challenged, and loved every step of the way.The curriculum was well-designed, taking into account the children's physical abilities and attention spans. It encompassed a range of activities, including fundamental techniques, partner drills, and fun games. The instructor skillfully balanced the classes, catering to various skill levels, and ensuring each child developed at their own pace. My son, who started with little prior experience, has shown significant improvement not just in his jiu-jitsu skills, but also in focus, discipline, and self-confidence.Another aspect that impressed us was the emphasis on safety. The instructor placed great importance on teaching the kids how to practice jiu-jitsu responsibly, teaching them the importance of control, respect for their training partners, and understanding their limits. With strict adherence to safety measures, such as proper warm-ups, consistent supervision, and proficient first-aid skills, I always felt confident that my son was in good hands.Furthermore, the facility itself was clean, spacious, and thoughtfully equipped. The mats were well-maintained, providing a safe training environment for the kids to learn and practice their moves. The class schedule was convenient, allowing flexibility for parents and ensuring ample training time for students.In conclusion, I highly recommend this kid's jiu-jitsu class for any young martial artist. As a parent, I couldn't be happier with the level of professionalism, dedication, and quality of instruction provided to my son.
