Great experience! Honest feedback. Great staff, really easy to enroll and get started. The facilities are great, they really make a difference to the mood to study.The lessons were strutured to hit all areas of language learning. Listening, reading, speaking, grammer, new words, presentation, live interactions with native speakers, and cultural lessons. If you are new or even an above intermediate learner they will challenge you in all the right ways.I had Kaori Sensei as my private teacher and she was Amazing! The first lesson we just spoke to get to know eachother and without realising it she fully assessed my abilitys within 30-40 minutes. Looking back I realise now she didnt follow a text book structure but personalised every lesson to target my weak areas whilst also leaving room to practice/explore things that i was interested in. I was very impressed.One week in Jals would be equivalent to 1 month learning overseas in my opinion. 3 hours of class group work followed by maybe an 1 of homework, then a 90 min cultural activty, then finishing up with a 2 hour private lesson will definately boost your japanese. But you dont have to do all of that I just fully sent it😅But the biggest resource is your fellow classmates. Make time to hang out with them because they will truely show you what areas you need to work on. Not everyone will speak your native language so you are forced to speak japanese 24/7 and because everyones japanese isnt perfect its alot more comfortable to speak to students than try make native friends - probably the best resouce thats overlooked.If you made it this far just sign up and you might be lucky to have Kaori Senei 🤞
My husband and I spent a month learning at the JaLS Nagoya location and stayed in the private apartment that the school offered. This school was nothing but positivity and encouragement all around! It was obvious that everyone cared about your learning and all the teachers were amazing. They all had fun teaching us and kept the lessons very engaging with lots of opportunities to practice speaking. The school also offers activities after classes that would have been difficult to arrange by yourself especially as a beginning learner so I really appreciated getting those fun opportunities! The apartment was easy to get to, comfy and well maintained. They even had basic necessities like laundry soap, shampoo and conditioner, dish soap, cleaning supplies, etc to make your stay smooth! If you're planning to do a language school I absolutely recommend this place. The city Nagoya is quite big with tons of things to do while also being centrally located in Japan so the possibilities are endless here!
Jalsは素敵な学校で、私はJalsが選んだよかったと思います。スタッフも、先生たちも、優しくて親切で。学校がたくさんアクティビティーを準備してくれました、日本の文化は了解することができたと思います。それから、住むところは学校に申し込むことができます、学校が準備した部屋から学校まで近くて便利です。もし日本に日本語を勉強したかったら、jalsは良いチョイスだと思います。
先生も皆さんもとてもフレンドリーで、ここで勉強するのはとても楽しいです。
人生で一番素晴らしい経験は、ここに来たことです。

スペースが広いですし、雰囲気がリラックスできますし、日本語の本がたくさん置いてありますし、日本語先生とスタッフみんな優しく親身になっています｡日本語を習いたいなら、この学校は一番オススメです。（特に日本語先生である智子さんとかおりさんは今まで会った先生のなかで一番上手に日本語を教える先生です！）♪( ´θ｀)ノ。
よく設計された教室は、この環境が日本語学習に非常に適した場所であることを示しています。皆先生とても優しいです。

I studied at this Japanese language school in Nagoya and had a very positive experience overall. I was able to further my Japanese studies in a well-structured learning environment. The teachers and staff were kind, professional, and always willing to help, which made studying there feel comfortable and encouraging. Everyone was very supportive!The location was conveniently located with nearby convenience stores so you can grab a quick snack during break. There is a large study area where you can network with other students and even local students who are learning other languages. They also have a café that serves delicious drinks, it’s a pleasant place to study every day even after school hours and weekends. The school also offered after-school activities that were very fun such as Arimatsu Shibori dyeing, Nihon Buyo (traditional Japanese dance), and even kendo classes. These experiences made studying in Japan even more meaningful and memorable to me and because I was able to do this with my new classmates.One of the best parts of my time there was meeting people from different countries—I made some great friends and shared experiences that I’ll always remember! I’m grateful for my time at this school and would recommend it to anyone looking to study Japanese in Nagoya, both for the quality of education and the overall experience. I will definitely be back!
