This was the best experience we have had in Japan. We can’t recommend the “way of tea” enough. Kay was incredibly welcoming and gracious, and she thoughtfully fielded all of our many questions about tea and Japanese culture! We can’t wait to be back in Hiroshima to experience the way of tea with Kay again.
Yesterday, our family enjoyed a wonderful Way of Tea experience with Kay, Erica, and Yoko. From the very first moment, we felt incredibly welcome. The welcome was warm and welcoming, and the explanation of the Way of Tea was clear, calm, and captivating.What particularly touched us was the patience and attention with which all our questions were answered. Nothing was too much trouble, and the connection felt heartfelt. The space itself exuded tranquility, respect, and care. The perfect setting to fully immerse yourself in the moment.For me personally, as a true tea lover, this was a truly special experience. Seeing, smelling, and tasting the tea in this traditional context gave me a new, deeper respect for the art and care that goes into The Way of Tea.A unique experience that will stay with us for a long time. Thanks to Kay, Erica, and Yoko for their sincere attention, warmth, knowledge, and hospitality.
We had a lovely personal experience with very warm and welcoming hosts and a good balance of learning and doing, as well as enjoying the tea and treats. The setting was beautiful and the tea ceremony carefully conducted. We were able to easily interact in English and learn a few phrases in Japanese too! Highly recommended for an individual and personalised experience!

From the first moment I stepped into the tea room, I felt I was in an authentic, local and traditional place. I met So Kay and her daughter Reina, who welcomed me with a warm smile. Before starting the tea ceremony they explained to me the history of it and the various parts of the ceremony. It was very beautiful and interesting; at the end, I also had the chance to try to make my own bowl of tea under their supervision. I am very happy and satisfied to have been able to participate in this experience, a memory that I will certainly carry with me forever since this was my first time in Japan. I thank Kay and Reina very much for their professionalism and availability in answering all my questions.I recommend everyone to come here and experience the real way of the tea. Indeed, the main activity of Kay is to teach local people this art during all year; so you could not ask for a better teacher! I will definitely come back.ありがとうございます。
My sister and I were looking for a traditional tea ceremony during our time in Hiroshima, and we are so happy that we found Kay! We had such a lovely time learning the cha do (way of tea) and getting the opportunity to make tea ourselves. Kay and her students were very knowledgeable in the tradition and welcoming and encouraging to us during the process. We will definitely be back on our next visit to Hiroshima and absolutely recommend this experience to anyone traveling here. Thank you again, Kay!
We loved our tea ceremony with Kay . She was so nice and informative and her English was excellent. We learnt about the history, the process and we even made our own tea. It was a very relaxing and very authentic and intimate experience . Kay went above and beyond the class , she also gave us information about Japanese culture from the Sakura to the meaning of specific Japanese words. She even did some bilingual Japanese / English explanations for my daughter who is studying Japanese . I strongly recommend Kay’s tea ceremony. Thanks again Kay and see you next time !

Highly recommend that everyone has this wonderful experience learning about tea. Kay is a very knowledgeable, gentle, and kind teacher and her English is very good! In just one hour, she gave us so much to think about. We are very grateful our paths crossed.
