Recently visited S Kobayashi Art Trading Co. Ltd in Nikko, and it was such a memorable experience! This charming spot, set in an old Japanese building that retains its original structure, offers a cozy, nostalgic atmosphere that transports you back in time. We were seated on tatami mats by the window, giving us a picturesque view of the street outside. It was delightful to see mostly tourists there, all enjoying the serene ambiance and authentic Japanese decor.The latte art was beautifully crafted, and the crepes we ordered were deliciously plated, accompanied by fresh banana slices, chocolate bits, and ice cream. The cozy setup, traditional seating, and peaceful view made the entire experience feel like a small escape into old Japan.For anyone visiting Nikko, I highly recommend stopping by S Kobayashi Art Trading Co. Ltd. It’s not just a cafe; it’s a delightful step into Japanese tradition, perfect for taking a breather while exploring the area.

Stopped by late afternoon and was grateful to find it open. All tables full. Waited about 10-minutes happily. Got a table in window position in the corner, perfect. They have 2 table and chairs and then table and seating mats x 4. It's got a chill, laid back feel. If you in a hurry don't go there. This is about taking your time, relaxing and enjoying what you order. I elected cafe latte with milk but all drinks have oat choice, both hot and cold. Plus crepe with banana and chocolate. Both were delicious! I would have ordered another coffee but I would have been awake all night. Lol.
