Akiko sensei was very skillful, professional, patient, and kind. This was my first time doing Japanese calligraphy, and it was the best experience by far. During the class, she offered many positive criticism, so the students can improve their skill. I booked two more session with her because I was so satisfied with the overall experience.

While spending our summer holidays back in Hakodate from overseas, we had the chance to experience calligraphy for the first time with my children aged 7 and 10.The class takes place in a cozy, welcoming studio within walking distance of Jūjigai, one of Hakodate’s well-known sightseeing spots.Ms. Akiko is a wonderful teacher, and thanks to her guidance, my children quickly picked up the techniques.If you’re visiting Hakodate, I highly recommend this as a unique and memorable cultural experience!
My two children, visiting from Sweden, participated in the trial lesson.They were taught in a clear and understandable way the fundamental basics of calligraphy—such as posture and how to hold the brush—things that are difficult to learn abroad.Thanks to the excellent and easy-to-follow teaching, the children quickly picked it up and were able to write beautifully.They said they would love to try calligraphy again next time we visit Hakodate.

書道セットを持っておらず、手ぶらで体験することができました。SNSなど情報から書き方を学ぶ事も可能ですが、先生のお手本を見て、感じて、書いてみて、五感をフルに使う事の大切さを再認識しました。『書きたいと思うことを自由に』と言われ、自然&自由に触れた感覚になりました。また、お願いしたいです。ありがとうございました。
I really enjoyed my first ever calligraphy experience! The teacher was so nice and taught me kindly. She also explained about the proper posture, and the proper way of using the brush and the ink. I wrote the words "Jinsei" which means "life" and "ritto" which means "the beginning of winter". I highly recommend this calligraphy school. They cater to foreigners who are interested in Japanese culture. Thank you very much! ❤️❤️❤️
