My friend and I were in Shizuoka for a single night during our Japan trip this year and were just looking for a place to have a couple drinks, when we saw the very high rating on Google Maps for this place. Well, instead of staying for a couple drinks we ended up here for 2+ hours until it closed. I’ve been to a couple “sunakku” in Japan before, but the incredible mama and her younger assistant at Kisaragi (I *think* that’s the Romaji of this bar’s name, hopefully I’m correct!) made this easily my favorite one ever. They were so kind and encouraging even though my Japanese isn’t particularly great, very willing to use Google Translate to communicate with us when necessary, and incredibly attentive with refilling our drinks. Hanging out here for hours doing karaoke and drinking was one of the highlights of my entire Japan trip, and I will definitely come back the next time I find myself in town. I really can’t recommend this place enough if you’re looking for a very cute little Japanese bar to have a good time in.
