We spent almost two hours in this beautiful shop and felt genuinely welcomed from the very first moment. The owner is incredibly kind, patient, honest, and deeply knowledgeable. You can immediately feel how much care and passion he puts into his work, his products, and his customers.What impressed us most was his sincerity and trustworthiness. He even pointed out small imperfections on certain pieces himself and explained everything very transparently. That level of honesty is rare and deeply appreciated. His prices are also very fair, especially considering the quality, uniqueness, and history behind each item.Every piece in the shop has its own character and story, and the owner takes the time to explain them with great care. Everything is wrapped beautifully and prepared thoughtfully after buying it. But you never feel pressured to buy anything. Instead, you feel invited to truly appreciate the craftsmanship and meaning behind the objects.Beyond the products themselves, we will remember the owner’s warmth and generosity most. His genuine hospitality (and from his mom bringing tea) made this one of the most memorable experiences of our Japan trip. We are very grateful for the time he spent with us and hope to visit again in the future. Bring enough time, you will not regret it. And look twice on each item, i overlooked many incredible pieces on the first look.
Had a wonderful experience here! It’s a family business that has been around for several generations and the store owner was extremely kind and knowledgeable about the pieces. He was beyond welcoming, offered me tea, and even hand wrote a card about the info behind the plate I bought. Highly recommend this place, such a great shop with an even better owner!
Wir hatten gestern eine außergewöhnliche Begegnung in diesem Laden. Durch Zufall kamen wir vorbei, weil wir uns vor Hotel-Check-in die Zeit vertreiben mussten. Wir sahen die schönen Schüsseln und Tassen und betraten die Galerie. Der Besitzer erklärte uns mithilfe seinem Expertenwissens und teilweise mit google-Übersetzer die historischen Hintergründe zu den einzelnen Artikeln und nahm sich richtig viel Zeit für uns. Wir waren von der Freundlichkeit und Hingabe fast zu Tränen gerührt.Zudem sind die kunstvollen Artikel auch noch preiswert.Für uns eines der unvergesslichsten Erlebnisse unserer Japan-Reise!!!
This was a charming store with a wonderful owner. He was very welcoming and explained the story about each item I inquired about. He also served me tea, and was kind enough to wrap my pieces and deliver it himself to the hotel an hour after we left the store.
got a lovely and very reasonably priced secondhand chawan here! overall amazing curation of vintage ceramics as well as new/more modern pieces, and kojiro-san was very friendly and willing to share :)

One of my favorite shops in all of Japan. The store owner is incredibly knowledgeable and has hand picked each item himself. He will give you background and history of each item you are interested in. We left with many pieces well worth the prices! Probably my favorite purchases were made here. If you love antiques, this is an absolute must!
The owner is so nice here!! He taught me about the history and culture and I found some items I really liked and bought. He wrapped them very nice and gave me a very fair price! He is always getting new stuff and going to auction houses. I highly recommend checking this small shop out!!
If I could give 6/5 I would. Great customer service, hospitality and beautiful ceramics. Bought my favourite piece here, a nice matcha bowl. Don’t miss this place when in Kinosaki.

Easily one of the best experiences I’ve had in Japan. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and gave us handwritten notes in English (!!) to explain the history of each piece. We were also offered tea as he diligently packed each of our pieces to ensure a safe journey back home. The selection is also quite wide in both the age ranges of the items as well as the types and styles. A very fun and fruitful experience! Would highly encourage anyone looking for ceramics and antiques at reasonable prices!
