The man in the shop is very nice and welcoming and he has a beautiful collection of antiques and ceramics in good prices, you can tell he takes a good care of his collectionReally recommend!
beautiful store with kind-hearted store owner. there was quite a selection of new and old chawans, along with chasen, chasen holders and other items. the store owner also provided information on how to use, store, and take care of the products i purchased :)
I loved this store. I bought my one of a kind matcha bowl and the owner told me the story of the artist, showed me how to wrap the box in a traditional Japanese way and was so kind. There are lots of unique matcha finds in here so you don’t want to miss stopping in!Note that it is cash only
Wonderful couple who sold us a few beautiful pieces of pottery. Took the time to tell us about the history of the specific patterns and where they were made. Very down to earth.
Went in with my husband to get a matcha bowl and got out with a bowl, a whisker and a matcha spoon. The service was great and even though the store owner does not speak english fluently he made quite an effort to share some of the culture behind matcha making and tea brewing. We have nothing but good things to say about this establishment and want to thank the owner for the kindness he showed us. Would definetely recommend anyone visiting the store!
平等院鳳凰堂の後に抹茶椀を探してフラフラしていたら偶然見つけました！店主の方が珍しい椀をたくさん見せてくださったり、お茶の楽しみ方ノウハウを教えてくださり凄く勉強になりました量産品でお手頃な2000円台のものから、12万するような高価なものまで様々で、普段見かけないようなお茶碗がたくさんあって楽しかったです！今回入籍祝いと称して少しいいお値段のものを買わせていただきましたまたこちらでお買い物しに来たいと思います。
This was one of the most memorable shopping experiences of my life. I purchased an antique chawan and a chasen. They were both beautiful, excellent quality and great value. There were so many wonderful items in the shop, I could have bought a lot more, if my luggage allowance would have allowed! I am very pleased with what I did buy and I recommend this shop to anyone with an interest in Japanese culture, antiques and tea ceremonies. As well as being so pleased with the items I bought, the thing that made this shopping experience so memorable was the shopkeeper himself. He was kind and attentive. He told me about where my bowl was made, he even showed me how to tie the box back up in the traditional way. He gave me a large bag so I could put all of my other shopping in it comfortably and he even gave me some complementary tea. Thank you so much, I will think about this store every morning when I drink my matcha using the items I purchased and I hope to return one day!
平等院の帰りにフラっと立ち寄りました。まず何よりも店主さんのお人柄が素晴らしいです。知識のない私達にも気さくにお話しを聞かせてくれ、貴重なお品物も戸棚から出して見せてくださいました。気に入った抹茶碗は予算オーバーの為諦めましたが、違う出会いがありお買い物を楽しむことができました。旅の思い出となるこのお品をずっと大切にします。またもし何か探し物がある時は、まずこちらのお店に伺いたいです。この度はありがとうございました。
