Sweet old lady’s childhood home serving as a tea house. Open from the 25th of each month to the end of each month. We were just passing by and admiring her house art when one of her neighbours introduced us to her. She brought us in, served us coffee, gave us free presents and had a little chat through google translator. She was very tech savvy for a 75 year old lady. Very kind and friendly. She told us to tell more people to come to Kawagoe.

I stumbled upon this while walking around Kawagoe in November 2025. I was in a rush to find a shrine but I was drawn to this place due to the decor. I was intrigued so i checked to see what it said on google maps, on google maps it shows up as an art gallery. I immediatly went in as i had a little bit of time to spare before going to the shrine. I was given a warm welcome by the owner of the house. She led me upstairs. There was about 10 - 15 ladies sitting and enjoying coffee and small sweets. I could not speak Japanese so i felt like i was intruding, i tried to talk to one of the ladies through google translate. She was very very lovely, we had a laugh as i told her i thought it was an art gallery. she said no it was not, she told me they had some kimonos for show, i didnt get a chance to see them as i had to head out. The owner was so lovely she gave me some treats and didnt charge for the coffee. Im glad Andy G posted his review below because i had no idea if i had just invited myself into someones home hahaha. Glad to have some clarity on the nature of the establishment. Anyone going to Kawagoe should check it out, the vibe is great!!!! If you are the owner and you are reading this , thank you so much for being a great host despite the barrier for language :)
