戦前に植えられた梅の木が50本も残る特別な場所です。
石原莞爾の築いた歴史を感じる記念碑があります。
1934年に植樹された梅を楽しむことができる公園です。
戦前に石原莞爾が植えた梅200本が現在でも50本程度残っている。近くに「梅の石碑」もある。梅林、梅園の少ない仙台市内では貴重な場所。公園となりの榴岡天満宮も梅の木が多い。

The Plum Garden in Tsutsujigaoka Park and a monument commemorating Ishiwara Kanji.Part of the 200 plum trees planted in 1934 AD (Showa era), by Ishiwara Kanji, commander of the 4th Infantry Regiment of the IJA at the time, can still be seen today!According to the inscription, Ishiwara Kanji served as the 4th Infantry Regiment commander here for two years, starting in 1933 AD. He planted 200 plum trees here as a source of nutrition for the regiment's soldiers and as emergency food. The monument commemorates the opening of the former 4th Regiment site to the public as a park for Sendai citizens.Ishiwara Kanji (son of a former Shonai samurai, sixth-year graduate of the Sendai Military School, former IJA lieutenant general) was one of the military leaders during the Manchurian Incident.
