Great calligraphy class! It was only our group of 3, so it was a nice and serene atmosphere. Ryuta makes sure to watch and help us improve each stroke so that we learn the right way. Not only we've learned but we had fun too!
I loved my calligraphy lesson with Ryuta, he was so patient and a calming influence which is great for someone like me who isn't great at art haha! He taught many different strokes and brush techniques, gave lots of practice opportunities and helped me create a beautiful pasted piece of work! Absolutely recommend this experience to everyone! Omg! This was such an authentic and immersive experience! I really loved how they spent time coaching us through the process! Take this class you won't regret it! 10/10! I highly recommend!
I do liked it much. It had the luck to be the only one. I had much time to practice and write down my own choosen Kanji. He showed me how to do my calligraphy in any little steps and the process of printing it. I really like my work and be glad to take it home.
Very experienced calligraphy master and teacher, speaking English very well (both Ryuta and his wife). Also great to have enough time to really practice. Don’t understand how others offer such courses in only 1 hour.
Informative and very interesting. It was a lot of fun. You learn step by step and begin to understand the basics of calligraphy. Master Toda is very professional and friendly.At the end, you take your work home with you – it's one of the most beautiful souvenirs from Japan. I highly recommend this course.
Cannot recommend this experience more! My team at work reached out for a private class in our office building and not only did we have an incredible experience, but the conference room was completely transformed with music, full setup, materials, etc. The class was easy to follow, enjoyable for all participants, and we even walked away with some beautiful art to bring home as a souvenir. Our guides were extremely kind and accommodating, especially as we didn't have any Japanese speakers with us. Don't miss this great opportunity!
中学生以来初めて習字をしましたが、書き方も丁寧に教えて頂き、大変楽しい時間を過ごさせて頂きました。3歳の子供と一緒に行ったのですが、とても楽しんでおり、家族で参加するのもおすすめです！
I tried calligraphy for the first time since elementary school.It brought back a lot of nostalgia, and now I was able to realize how interesting it is to take the time to carefully write each character.The owner, Mr. Toda, taught me with great care, and not only did I write, but I also learned the process of making Kakejiku itself, resulting in a beautifully finished Kakejiku.I’m so happy with the result, and I’ll proudly display it at home!!

An absolute great experience learning to write traditional calligraphy and putting your skills on a kakejiku. Ryuta was so helpful throughout the entire process. I was able to write my son's name in kanji for my kakejiku. Highly recommended workshop!
