NOVEMBER 2016It was great to stay with Soness and Yuji. They made us feel very welcome . They have a very comfortable home and the location is very close to the ocean, shops and restaurants. Thanks for the tasty hotpot that was just right for the cold weather. It was nice to meet the neighbours and Dan. Having the bikes was handy to cycle around the pleasant neighbourhood. Soness was a great help in working out where to visit.This is where we will stay next time we are in Chigasaki.
When I first came to Japan I was staying with Soness and Yuji and to be honest, that was the best choice I could've made.They are both nice and awesome people who help you getting used to the local life and know some nice places you can go visit if you are free. I really enjoyed just relaxing and talking with them in the living room after a long day.Their house lies in a clean and quiet neighbouthood and is very welcoming and comfortable. It's also fairly close to everything you might need - including the beach!It's the kind of place where you can simply feel at ease, that makes you leave with the feeling of gratitude - and the will to swing by when you return to Japan.
Staying with Sonness and Yuji is about as close to the perfect homestay experience as I think you can get. They are both wonderful people, in a lovely house, in a very beautiful neighbourhood.They have amazing suggestions for local restaurants and things to do. I think there was a perfect balance of personal space as well having time for conversations or making miso soup together.Sonness was absolutely lovely and would always make time to help out with absolutely anything and is one of the kindest people I have ever met.Yuji is fantastic at what he does and a really nice guy, as well as being an absolutely amazing cook. They are a really lovely couple.Chigasaki is a stunning, relaxed area, with great food and a wonderful beach to take the bikes along to Enoshima for the day.The cats (particularly Nadia) were great company to be around when relaxing at the end of a busy day. I really feel like I was able to relax and was welcomed into their home, and as a part of their family.I cannot recommend staying with them enough. I look forward to meeting them again in the future :)Kona and I had such an amazing time, thank you so much for everything :D

Yuji and Soness are fantastic hosts. I stayed with them for two week as a solo traveler. The house is very clean and Yuji and Soness are very helpful. If you need recommendations for fun day trips, they know some fun places to go and interesting things to do. I felt like I had made two new friends by the time my vacation was over!
