屋上庭園 Roof Gardenの特徴
六本木ヒルズの地下45ｍに位置するお庭の特別公開イベントが魅力的です。
広さ1,500㎡の庭園で、特別な春のひとときを楽しめます。
予約制のイベントで、非公開の貴重な体験ができるスポットです。
普段非公開ですが、予約制の春特別公開イベントに参加して伺いました。エレベーターで上がって出ると屋上庭園に着きます。生憎雨が降ったり止んだりの天気でしたが、六本木ヒルズのビルを背景に桜と菜の花が見れるのはここならではの景色で素敵でした。東京タワーも見る事が出来て、天気が良ければ新宿の方も見れたのではないかと思います。予約はヒルズアプリが必要ですが、予約してみる価値があります。

東京・港区の六本木ヒルズ けやき坂コンプレックス屋上庭園は、地上45ｍ、広さが1,500㎡、六本木ヒルズのほぼ中央に位置しています（※当日配布リーフレット参照）。この屋上庭園は周囲を高層ビルに囲まれ東京タワーも近くに感じられる空間に日本の「農の風景」を再現していて、のどかな自然と不思議な安らぎを感じます。通常は屋上庭園に生息する動植物保護のため、一般公開は通常年1回とのこと（今年は4月3日～5日の3日間）。私が訪れた4月5日は満開のサクラとナノハナが美しい特別公開の日で、事前に当日受付を予定時間前に済ませると参加は無料でした。今年は「東京建築祭2026」の公式HPに参加予定情報も出ています。屋上庭園は都市緑化の樹木だけでなく、水田と畑があります。当日は庭園ガイドにも参加でき、私が訪れたときにナノハナが咲いていたスペースでは、毎年異なる自治体のお米を収穫していることを伺いました。日本の伝統文化、食、環境について親しむことができると同時に、東京では水田や畑も高層ビルの中に存在していることに驚きを感じました。農林水産省の統計によると、2024年時点で10年前と比較し東京都内の水田作付面積は52ヘクタール（東京ドーム11個分以上）減り、都は2026年度、「東京の田んぼ復活プロジェクト」を開始。ですがすでに約20年前から、屋上庭園は四季の美しさと収穫を重ねていたのです。The Roof Garden at the Keyakizaka Complex in Roppongi Hills, Minato Ward, Tokyo, is located approximately 45 meters above ground level, spans 1,500 square meters, and sits almost at the center of Roppongi Hills (see the leaflet distributed on the day of my visit).Surrounded by skyscrapers and offering a distant view of Tokyo Tower, this rooftop garden recreates a traditional Japanese “agricultural landscape” and exudes a gentle sense of nature. To protect the flora and fauna inhabiting the garden, it is typically open to the public only once a year (this year, for three days from April 3 to 5). I visited on April 5, a special open day, and found the cherry blossoms and rapeseed flowers in full bloom. Admission was free for those who registered on-site before the start time. Information about this year’s event is also available on the official website of the “Tokyo Architecture Festival 2026.”The Roof Garden features not only trees for urban greening but also rice paddies and vegetable plots. On the day of my visit, I was able to join a guided tour of the garden. In the area where the rapeseed flowers were in full bloom, I learned that rice is harvested there every year from different municipalities. While I was able to deepen my understanding of Japan’s traditional culture, cuisine, and environment, I was also surprised to find rice paddies and vegetable plots existing amidst Tokyo’s skyscrapers.According to statistics from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, as of 2024, the area of rice paddies in Tokyo had decreased by 52 hectares (more than 11 Tokyo Domes) compared to 10 years ago, prompting the metropolitan government to launch the “Tokyo Rice Paddy Revival Project” in fiscal year 2026. However, this Roof Garden have been offering the beauty of the four seasons and yielding harvests for over 20 years now.
