A new frozen food product called Frozen Inari Sushi (3-piece pack) has been launched by the conveyor-belt sushi chain Hama Sushi. It takes approximately 2 minutes to heat in the microwave plus steaming time, allowing you to easily enjoy sweet and savoury, dashi-infused, fried tofu pockets and vinegared rice with white sesame seeds at home. Priced at ¥306–322 in-store, it is slightly more expensive than eating out; however, its selling point is the convenience of 'Hama Sushi quality at home, anytime'. The dessert, 'Frozen Sweet Potato', is also being launched simultaneously, signalling a new trend of 'restaurant-chain-supervised' products in the home frozen food market. However, I don't think the frozen inari sushi will be widely accepted.
