Hello. :)I’ve been to this school in 2023 (2 weeks) and 2025-2026 (21 weeks).I can only recommend this school to you. The teachers and staff are amazingly helpful with everything. I came to Japan with a work and holiday visa and any difficulties I faced they were able to help me with and resolve quickly.The classes are super fun and entertaining and the teachers always try to help everyone with questions they have. They will mix classes so that everyone on the same level is in the same class.The only thing that other schools have that this school doesn’t is, that they cannot provide a student visa. But please don’t let that hold you back from studying with this amazing school.On bank holidays they offer free excursions (they’re already paid with your fee) and you can book extra weekly cultural activities. Those are accompanied by a different company. Their staff is also super nice.Attached are some pictures of my last stay - please mind you that these pictures were taken before they moved to the new building.
I'm a student from Sweden, I studied here for 20 weeks and there's nothing I can say that will make justice on how phenomenal this school was.The staff were great and helped with any and all issues you could have whether it's sim card, visa or restaurant recommendations. The teachers don't speak much English, if any, but they're incredibly pedagogical and patient as well as creative in their examples to help you learn and understand the language.Outside school there are movie nights arranged weekly and culture classes you can add on Saturdays for an extra fee, you may add these as late as on the week before if there's space left, so it's no stress. On national holidays the school often if not always arrange some sort of trip to an onsen or a temple, it's a great way to meet other students who are not in your class.I've visited multiple schools before, and Genki is by far the most prominent one. Again, I cannot make this school justice with words. If you're wavering or unsure, you'll be in great hands picking this school, you'll meet friends for life and have experiences you won't forget for decades.I'm most definitely going to return here at some point, reading google reviews helped me decide to pick this school, and I hope this review will do the same for you.日本へ、会いましょう!
とてもたのしかったです！
I studied at GenkiJACS for 3 months in Kyoto and I think it’s a lovely school! The teachers are all very kind and try their best to help you learn Japanese in your own tempo. The staff is also very helpful and understanding, they helped me with a lot. Overall the Students are also very respectful and I haven’t had any bad experiences. Other than that, the location is also great— as it’s close to famous temples in Kyoto. Kyoto is also very close to Nara, Osaka and Kobe, so it’s perfect for day trips on the weekend. ８月、四週間で元気文化と言語学校で日本語を勉強しました。最高と思いました。先生は皆とても面白いし、我慢が多いし、それで皆に絶対におすすめです。京都の周り、文化と歴史がいっぱいから週末もとても楽しかったです。他の生徒たちは日本語の勉強に興味があって皆は日本で関係が少ないですから、元気でたくさん友達が会いやすいです！最後、私はホストファミリーで泊まりました。ホストファミリーはいつも優しいし、日本語で私と話したし、美味しい料理を作ったし、それでとてもお世話になりました。ホストファミリーの家で泊る機会があれば、百パーセント泊まった方がいいです。元気、ありがとうございます！
It es dan amazing experience!! The staff and sensei are very kind!! The learning method used at JACS worked well for me, I went from barely speaking Japanese to comprehending and being able to maintain small conversations in Japanese. とてもたのしかった！わたしはげんきJACSでべんきょうしましたうれしかった！！！

Ich habe zwar nur 4 Wochen hier Japanisch gelernt, aber die Erfahrung war sehr schön und kann ich nur jedem wärmstens empfehlen.Die Lehrer und Lehrerinnen waren nicht nur fachlich kompetent, sondern auch menschlich sehr tolle und goldige Menschen. Es wurde viel Wert, vor allem auf das Sprechen gelegt, was mir persönlich beim Erlernen einer Sprache sehr wichtig ist.Aber auch die Menschen, die sich um die Organisation kümmern, sind super. Sie hatten immer ein offenes Ohr bezüglich aller Fragen und konnten einem immer echt gut weiterhelfen. Die Organisation bezüglich der Gastfamilien lief echt super und man musste sich wirklich um nichts kümmern.Außerdem haben sie einen super Keller.ありがとうございます。
