A place that restores you — exactly when you need it mostAfter flying from Sapporo to Tokyo, carrying the quiet fatigue of a 12-day journey across Nagoya → Kyoto → Osaka → Sapporo, arriving at MKG Hotel Asakusa felt less like checking into a hotel and more like being allowed to finally exhale.This was the final leg of a long Japan trip — and MKG Hotel Asakusa turned out to be exactly the reset we didn’t know we needed.The atmosphere immediately slows the pace. Natural wood finishes, soft lighting, and restrained Japanese design create a sense of calm that settles you almost instinctively. After days of trains, luggage, and constant movement, the space feels grounding rather than stimulating — a rare and welcome quality.What truly makes this hotel special is how liveable and self-sufficient it is. The room is thoughtfully equipped with a refrigerator, stove, oven, and a washer–dryer washing machine inside the room. Both laundry detergent and dishwashing detergent are provided, utensils are neatly stored in the drawers, and everything is genuinely usable — not just there for show.After nearly two weeks on the road, being able to wash clothes properly, make a simple meal, and reset without leaving the room felt incredibly restorative.There is also a Nespresso coffee machine with capsules provided, which became a small but meaningful comfort during slow mornings — the kind you only truly appreciate when you are travel-weary.The sleeping area is calm and well proportioned, with comfortable beds, excellent sound insulation, and warm ambient lighting that makes the room feel like a sanctuary rather than a stopover. The bathroom is spotless, modern, and efficient, with a Japanese bidet toilet and reliable water pressure — everything working exactly as it should.Despite being located in Asakusa, close to cultural sights and transport links, the hotel remains peaceful once inside. It is well positioned for exploring Tokyo, yet perfectly suited for rest.MKG Hotel Asakusa is not about spectacle. It is about recovery, comfort, and quiet competence — the kind of place that understands what travellers actually need after a long journey.For anyone ending a multi-city Japan trip, arriving from the airport, or simply looking for a calm and practical base in Asakusa, this hotel delivers something invaluable:a proper recharge.
這次入住501房:房間非常乾淨、浴室浴缸飯店式 非常舒適，房間跟浴室（乾濕分離，分兩層）。離地鐵剛好兩站中間 大約走5-10分鐘左右、地理位置離淺草寺約15分鐘左右。唯二有問題：1.位於大馬路邊晚上車子行駛聲音嘈雜無法有效隔音（難怪飯店附耳塞）2.入住時一定要切記，若隔天需要打掃一定要在當天的下午四點鐘前通知櫃檯（因為旅遊時常常早上就出門忘記通知），入住時櫃檯人員不會提醒喔，只有一個牌子放在桌上要自己注意看。如果上述那兩點大家不介意是一個很不錯的飯店。
We had a wonderful stay at Thomas's apartment style hotel. All the staff we have communicated with were courteous & helpful. Price was wonderful for what we got (Tokyo lodging overall is very expensive now!). The room we stayed at was very clean, functional & spacious. Special thank you to staff named Birdy who helped me track down my package that was sent from Kobe. Highly recommend Thomas's place.

In love with this hotel. Rooms smallish as always in Tokyo but so well designed - it feels spacious - it’s like we have each our own end of the room. They really have thought of everything. Very cute, well located. Love the washing machine and coffee machine
