If you’re staying nearby, skip the hotel’s self-service laundry. Hotel machines often take hours to dry your clothes and end up costing more money.This laundry shop is a much better option. The washing and drying are done in the same machine, and the entire process is completed in about an hour. The detergent is automatically dispensed, so there’s no need to bring your own.There is a machine available to exchange banknotes for coins, making payment very convenient. Just load your laundry, sit back, and relax while you wait.They also have a shoe washing machine, which is a great bonus for travelers. Clean, easy to use, and very efficient. Highly recommended.
**No cash/coins needed — ApplePay accepted**I’ve been traveling for a few days with no cash, only using card/ApplePay. I didn’t want to use an ATM for cash just to do laundry on my last day in Japan.I had a hard time at first finding a place that didn’t take cash until I found this laundromat.As of of May 2026 it was $6.25 USD for wash/dry. Scan QR code on machine, use ApplePay, and it will start automatically. No detergent needed, it will add itself.Also there is a sneaker wash machine here too. I’ve never seen one of these outside of Japan. 🤩

Pretty nice and convient laundry located 3 minutes away from Asakusa station.I went there because my hotel didn’t have a laundry space and I was quite happy with it, these are better and more efficient than the laundry machines you can find in hotels.There are English instruction for every machine except for the dryer strength selection , a simple image translation gives the meaning of the buttons.I used the washer/dryer machine who does both actions and 3 Kg of clothes came out clean and dry after 45 minutes for ¥800My experience with hotel laundry machines is that they take 1 hour to wash, then you pay ¥100 for 30 minutes of drying, which end up being not enough so you add another 30 minutes to get your clothes dry enough so you end up spending between 300-500¥ for the wash because some don’t include detergent and 100-200¥ for the dry, it also will take 1-2 hours.Here I threw everything in, went for a coffee nearby , came back 43 minutes later and once done everything was clean and dry.The is big table to allow you to tidy up your laundry.The only issue I have with this place is the big transparent window/door showing right on the Main Street.I didn’t mind that much but would assume some might feel uncomfortable handling their underwear while many passersby are looking right inside.Overall pretty good laundry, nice location and quite effective, it’s so spacious, cost and time efficient and open 24 hours I considered bringing my suitcase and do my whole laundry before leaving rather than going back and doing it at home.
So easy to use! Love that there is a free tub clean prior to putting your laundry in the washers and washer/dryer combo. Change machine is easy to use. Google translate helped with everything. Quiet and clean. Soap is automatically dispensed in the washer and there are dryer sheets (scented and unscented) you can buy in the change machine.
Most laundromats I’ve been to don’t offer drying settings, but this one does, even though it’s in Japanese, you can choose between low, medium, and high heat. They also have a wash-and-dry combo machine, though I wouldn’t recommend it for delicate clothes. There’s a machine that lets you exchange 1000 yen or 500 yen bills for 100 yen coins. Plus, it’s open 24 hours, which is super convenient.
