We might get a divorce just so we can remarry and hire 37 Frame and relive the experience again.Okay that's a joke haha but words can't do justice to how amazing an experience it was working with Dee and the team.You can tell that they genuinely love what they do and care about their clients.They went above and beyond to make the whole day special and accommodating for us. They helped source a musician, found the most unique spots for photos, and turned the whole experience into a fun adventure.The combination of their logistical and artistic expertise showed in the how the final photos/videos turned out. I honestly don't think they could've turned out better.On top of all that, it was so fun getting to know everyone. It was so easy to talk to them and it was genuinely a very fun time. We were all laughing a ton.If you are considering hiring 37 Frames, I cannot recommend them enough.

OVERALL: where love and magic happenIn summary, we loved having Dee and 37 frames as the team for our wedding planning and wedding photography & videography. We are from California and having our wedding abroad - as some of our happiest and MOST memorable moments - would not have been possible without them. They executed thoroughly & professionally and always, always, always cheerfully. After each Zoom call, we would get more and more excited for our wedding. We had a Welcome Dinner Event, rehearsal day, and Wedding. We got to eat, dance, and enjoy all these days without stress. I was able to be present for my wedding bc they took care of everything. For a wedding across the sea, it can be hard to trust their vision, but we actually welcomed it and loved the final outcome.———MORE DETAILS:FIRST INQUIRY:We found Dee and 37 frames via Reddit of all places and reached out to her in August 2024 for our wedding in April 2026. Normally they only do 1 year out , so we waited until 2025 to reach out again.We had our first Zoom meeting and she was so lovely. She got to know us a little and we got to know her. Loved her first impression; she was so cheery and also gave us a bunch of insights, even though it was our very first meeting and actually encouraged us to talk to other planners to make sure we thought it would be a good match.Spoiler alert: Dee on Zoom and Dee in person are the same; she is as enthusiastic, experienced and sweet in person as she is online! She’s so genuine and gives her best efforts to execute your vision.We didn’t even explore other planners bc we loved her vibe so much.PLANNING & EXECUTION:We started the planning process about a year in advance. For weddings in Japan, things seem to happen in a much narrower timeframe than in the US.I admit, initially, it was an adjustment. But it really was trust the process and trust them. We were fortunate enough to make 2 trips out to Japan prior to our wedding to scope out venues and meet with Dee and Sumika.My husband and I were very open to Dee’s suggestions bc we ourselves were unsure of what we wanted, besides good food and good vibes. Let’s just say that we pretty much went with every single suggestion she had and it always turned out amazing.They highly recommended Jinya (ryokan) based off of food and beautiful backdrop as our venue. After checking it out, it was indeed the one we went with. We had a tasting during our winter visit, and the food was absolutely amazing. It wasn’t the final menu bc our wedding would be in spring so the chef would have a menu catered to spring ingredients. And the food during our wedding was sooooo tasty.We also got the chance to check out Welcome Dinner spots (during our winter visit) and Dee, on a whim, asked us to come with her to Hotel Indigo. We immediately loved the vibe. And we went with Hotel Indigo.Her suggestions from having Hana Iida as our live music to macarons as dessert to our flowers (and more!) always “hit the nail on the head.”I will say, during their peak seasons, they are BUSY (slow emails). They acknowledge it. And we accepted that and were okay with it. Because we knew when it was our turn, they would focus only on us. And they did. They committed 100% and executed 100%.I’m not kidding when I say, I didn’t stress AT ALL during my welcome dinner or the wedding. I had a blast and they are 1,000% the reasons for that. 1,000% worth it.TEAM:The 37 Frames team is also so, so, lovely. They guide you on posing (me and my husband are stiff and unsure of ourselves lol) and are so fun and easy to work with. Sumika helped us with another event (Yakatabune) outside of our main events. When we had some rooming issues, Sumika immediately fixed them.Someone threw up on my husband’s suit jacket (unbeknownst to us) and poor Sumi and Dee, took it upon themselves to try and get most of it out!They are an All-star team. We would love to work with them again and explore the lesser-known-parts of Japan.It was truly a bittersweet moment on parting day. 💕🥹
If you’re scrolling through reviews to learn more about 37 Frames, you’re probably exactly where my wife and I were almost two years ago, trying to find the right wedding planner for a destination wedding in Japan. I went deep into the Reddit rabbit hole and reached out to a bunch of options, but nothing really clicked. The vibe just wasn’t there.Then we had our first back-and-forth with Dee, and immediately knew this was different.Before we even signed anything, she sent over a super thoughtful list of venues and even had her assistant planner, Sumika, meet us at one of the locations. No pressure at all, just tons of options, experience, and really positive energy. It just felt right, so we pulled the trigger with 37 Frames.Fast forward to about a month ago, our dream wedding actually happened. And honestly, we can’t say enough good things about Dee, Sumika, and the entire 37 Frames team. They went way above and beyond anything we expected, and somehow made the whole experience feel effortless so we could enjoy every single second.With a destination wedding, you’re putting a lot of trust in your planner since you can’t be hands-on for everything, but they made that part so easy. Anytime we felt stuck or unsure, Dee stepped in with guidance that just made sense.If you’re even thinking about going this route, do yourself a favor and reach out ASAP, their calendar fills up fast. This is an absolute S-tier team, and 200% who you want in your corner for a day you’ll remember for the rest of your life.We're still trying to figure out how real life is supposed to top that. :)

If we could give a higher score than 5* we would do so in a heartbeat. For the organisation of our wedding we worked with Dee and she was absolutely fantastic, the kindest soul and a fantastic organiser. We really could count on her for everything. On the day of the wedding we also met/worked with Sumika and Junko and they were also such rays of sunshine. Thanks to 37 frames our wedding day was beyond anything we imagined and the best day of our lives. And the photos are absolutely stunning. We really cannot recommend 37 enough!
I would give 10 stars if I could. Dee and her team were wonderful. They squeezed us in to their already so busy schedule and planned out the perfect wedding for us just outside of Tokyo. We took their word on a lot of things, as we had not even seen the location before getting there the day of the wedding. It really paid off because it was all perfect. We had about 10 guests and they all had a wonderful time as well. Working with Dee was a great experience and her whole team were just so nice the day of. Any time we wanted to alter any plans, it was done easily. Our communication was great even from the opposite side of the world. Definitely recommend!
A truly magical pre-wedding photography experience with Dee and Tracey!We can't thank them enough for planning and providing a perfect shoot for us at this special place, Kawaguchiko. Dee has been passionate and helpful since we reached out and that brings a sense of assurance especially since we are having our first overseas shoot.They were the only photographers we reached out to, after scrolling through the endless list of vendors. Their portfolio stood out to us, with a consistent style and expresses the couples very well, not having too many distractions. We knew we had to go with them after the first conversation with Dee, we were excited and all turned out right!The team also took good care of us, ensuring we weren't exposed to the cold for too long. We can feel their passion throughout the session, constantly looking out for possibilities and scenes.Dee also recommended a great make-up artist, Megumi, who did inccredible make-up and hair for my partner, always ensuring that she was at her best during the shoot!Finding the right person and having faith in them is always the right way to go! We are glad that we found them and hope 37 Frames continues to be part of many stories that they come across.

We admittedly made things a little more challenging by changing our plans from an intimate elopement to a 38-person wedding, and yet Dee and the entire team handled every detail with professionalism, grace, and genuine excitement.From helping us find venues and vendors who treated us so well to ensuring our vision remained the top priority, they made the entire planning process feel effortless. We came to them with very little idea of what we wanted, and somehow Dee and her team brought together a wedding day that exceeded every expectation we had. It truly felt like a dream.You can tell that everyone on the 37 Frames team genuinely loves what they do. They treated us as though we were their most important clients, bringing so much energy, enthusiasm, and joy throughout the entire experience. Their excitement was contagious, and having them with us throughout the streets of Tokyo made the day even more special.It's true that their photography is on the higher end in terms of cost, but you absolutely get what you pay for. One of the most common pieces of advice we received from friends and family was that after your wedding day is over, your photographs are one of the few tangible things you'll have to remember it by. Looking back, 37 Frames was worth every single penny.Our wedding photos are beyond incredible. We still find ourselves looking through them and reliving every moment. Friends and family consistently tell us they are some of the best wedding photos they've ever seen. Not only did 37 Frames capture the big moments beautifully, but they also preserved all the little moments and emotions that made the day so meaningful.We travel to Japan often to visit family, and there's no question that we'll be returning to 37 Frames for future family photos over the years.
