Music Lessons -
Knowledgeable and skilled teacher of koto in Tokyo. Able to work with students from various musical backgrounds from those just starting out to those with more experience. Well-connected and able to get you all set up with an instrument and equipment to start your koto journey.Cheerful and eager to help students explore koto repertoire and Japanese music in an engaging way. Lessons are a good balance of exposition and practice on the instrument with directed instruction so they’re never dull. Also appreciate that my lessons are in English - I think receiving instruction about more technical topics is much smoother and clearer when presented in my first language :)Thanks, Bobby!

Bobby is a superb teacher who explains concepts patiently and clearly, and demonstrates a high level of musicality. He always makes me feel prepared to practice on my own, and has helped me reach my musical goals. And he has a friendly, easy-going personality, so lessons are always a lot of fun!
