I was a student under Nishiyama sensei at this dojo for several years. Nishiyama sensei has over 40 years experience teaching Karate. The length of his experience speaks for itself. He was a student of the founder himself. It would be very difficult to find a better teacher and a better dojo. He welcomes students of all nationalities and treats everyone with respect, kindness and professionalism while emphasizing the prevention of injuries. In my opinion, this is one of the best fighting styles in the realm of karate and this is one of the best dojos with the best sensei. I visited many dojos before joining this one. I immediately was impressed with the structure of the training and the teaching skill of the sensei. I boxed for eight years at a high competitive level and know very well what good instruction and training is. Even though I no longer live in Japan, I visit this Dojo whenever I am in Japan. Nishiyama sensei remembers all his former students and welcomes them back. His main concern is and always has been the welfare of his students. I really miss not being a part of this dojo. It has shaped my life and I am forever grateful for Nishiyama sensei’s relentless enthusiasm in his teaching.
