赤羽にあるアーケード商店街です。日曜日でしたが、雨だったからか人はまばら。しかしながらお店は色々あって活気が感じられました。
If Tokyo had a greatest hits album of neighborhood shopping streets, this place would be an underrated B-side: catchy, practical & surprisingly fun. This covered arcade stretches on and on, lined with shops, izakayas, cafés & everyday essentials, all neatly tucked under a roof that saves you from rain, sun, or the occasional dive-bombing crow.The vibe here is more local than touristy. You’ll find everything from tiny ramen joints to izakayas calling your name after dark, plus plenty of shops for daily life. And then there’s the Daiso with a robot cleaner - yes, even the 100-yen store here has joined the automation revolution. Watching it zip around while you browse cheap kitchen gadgets feels like you’ve wandered into the future, only to realize the future also sells socks for 110 yen.What makes this place great is its balance: convenient, lively & human-sized. It’s not as flashy as Shinjuku or Shibuya, but that’s exactly why it works. You can shop, eat, or just people-watch without getting trampled.Bottom line: It’s Akabane’s community hub...practical by day, buzzing at night & charmingly quirky (seriously, go check out the Daiso robot).Rating: 4.5 out of 5. Everyday Tokyo at its best, with bonus points for robot janitors.
