I saw a sign pointing to these ruins on a signboard and I had a little time to be where I had to be so I thought I’d check them out.I missed the entrance by a long shot and had to u-turn, the signage for the actual trailhead was difficult to see because it’s down a small alley between two houses.I parked at a small community centre (not sure if that was okay or not) and made my way to the trailhead signified by a small red and white sign. I saw another pointing to the left but again got lost because the obvious path was not the right path but one leading to a veggie patch. Anyway I found the correct path leading behind someone’s property. After about 100m the trail heads up a hill to a junction with a small cemetery to the left and the castle trail to the right. There’s nothing left of the castle, just earth works like defensive cuts and cliffs leading up to where the main keep was. It’s nice to see an information board giving a detailed description of what was once there.Maybe it was the late autumn early morning air that made this place fun for me, but I liked it even though there’s not much to see here.
