白山権現の特徴
喜多院の近く、さまざまな神々が祀られている存在です。
平成の天皇陛下夫妻の行幸記念碑が目の前にあります。
厄除けを行うために訪れる方にも人気の神社です。
白山権現〒350-0036 埼玉県川越市小仙波町1丁目19-2訪問日は2024年5月5日でした。喜多院参拝の帰り、参拝しました。白山権現(はくさんごんげん)830(天長7年)慈覚大師円仁(えんにん)が喜多院を創建された時に、天台宗修験道の霊場である白山より、この守護神として白山の神仏の分霊を祀ったと伝えられています。右道路向かい側の日枝神社は、同じく創建時に、天台宗の本山である比叡山ふもとの日吉大社の神様の分霊を祀った神社です。らいはい天台宗では、神仏習合といい、お寺も日本の神様にお守りいただきながら、神仏ともに礼拝し、人々の幸せをお祈りします。*修験道 神様と仏様の両方の力を得る修行方法Hakusan GongenIt is said that in 830 CE(Year 7 of the Tencho Era), when the priest Ennin (also known as Jikaku Daishi) founded the Kita-in Temple complex, he created a place to re-enshrine the Buddhas and gods of Mt. Hakusan, which was considered hallowed ground in the Shugendō* offshoot of Tendai (Tiantai) Buddhism, to serve there as protective deities.Hie Shrine, which is directly across from the road to the right, was also built to re-enshrine the gods of Hiyoshi Taisha at the foot of Mt. 神仏は分離されていますが、ともに川越の成り立ちや発展には欠かせない存在。
