It was an amazing experience and they were so awesome with my kids! A beautiful way to culturally immerse in an inviting space intimately situated in the heart of the fish market.
Such a delightful way to take in the market! Misao led us through the market, explaining the history and current day patterns. She knows everyone inside the market and got us little tasters as we selected ingredients for our cooking class! She had detailed descriptions of each ingredient and its use within Japanese cooking. Her set up inside her cooking class is perfect, overlooking Tokyo bay, close quarters so it’s easy to hear and see, and. A video set up above her station so we can follow along easily. Her timing was perfect so the class was swift, but we never felt rushed! Her assistant quietly ran around, cleaning and setting everything up so you never had to think twice about wha to grab next. At the end, we got to enjoy all our hard work! Could not recommend this more!!! Thank you Misao!

Highlight of our trip! Hands-on cooking class. Begin with a tour (and ingredient shopping) of the famous sprawling fish market learning insights - how bonita flakes are made, which cuts of tuna are sought after, what delicacies are prized... Head back to the teaching kitchen where, with overhead cameras and a microphone, you're taught in detail how to make miso and teriyaki from scratch, how to cut sashimi, and roll sushi.Owner-operator Misao was delightful and not difficult to understand. She conceived this business when traveling herself, and realized she had no way to buy and prepare ingredients when staying in a hotel abroad. This class gives you the confidence to shop for ingredients and prepare transitional dishes.
Our group of five had a wonderful time at Tsukiji Cooking. The trip to the market was interesting and informative. The cooking class itself was very well-organized and a great mix of demonstration and hands on. We made some very tasty miso soup, a variety of sushi and a yummy strawberry daifuku dessert. The teacher and her assistant were terrific. I would highly recommend.
This was one of the highlights of our family trip to Japan! Our three kids (22-25) had a great time and definitely add the market tour. Thank you so much for a wonderful lunch and activity!

we had an excellent cooking experience! we loved talking to and learning from Misha. she provided a thorough lesson and we enjoyed learning how to cook our three dishes. I’ve already recommended this class to a group of American tourists and I’d recommend this class to anybody!
