My daughter and I decided to have a day off the mountain and wanted to see the snow monkeys.We booked online and we're greeted by Rosella at the tour office.This turned out to be one of our greatest experiences in Japan thanks to Rosella's knowledge of the area and wonderful personality.We definitely recommend treating yourself to an incredible experience and the delightful journey through time, and the snow monkeys are pretty cute!! 🤩
Rosella was an amazing guide! She was very knowledgeable and helpful with us in a group of 16 people! We did the private morning tour to visit the snow monkeys and Shibu Onsen village. She was very attentive and accommodating with the different needs in our group. It was a fun tour, a bit of walk to the park, but totally worth it! The monkeys look happy and well taken care of. Highly recommend if visiting the area!

We highly recommend! You get so much more than a ride to the snow monkeys. We had a comfortable ride over to the park. Included was just enough information on the monkeys, navigating the terrain, and the option to purchase apple pies after (so good!!). We then made a couple additional stops that we hadn’t anticipated. The tour of the Shibu Onsen was just as lovely. And made it back to Nozawa Onsen for our dinner reservation. Book it.
Rosella is the best #1 tour guide of all time!!! She was very knowledgeable, and looked out for our group of tourists in difficult conditions… almost 1 m of snow in a day! She helped to adjust the tour timing and gave a great tour of the snow monkey park and shibu onsen. The driver also did an amazing job driving in very challenging icy road conditions. We had a great adventure and we have a lot of gratitude for a great day!
We had a great private tour with IXSM to visit the snow monkeys, a sake brewery, and Shiba Onsen village. It was very convenient, as our tour guide Tommy picked us up from our hotel in Nagano and then drove us straight to the snow monkey park.We had plenty of time with the snow monkeys and Tommy was an excellent guide, answering all of our questions and also giving us recommendations for restaurants in our next destination.Definitely recommend!
Had an amazing experience going to see the snow monkeys and then Zenkōji temple. The day flew by because we had so much fun! Shout out to our guide Tommy. He kept us informed with loads of interesting info throughout the trip. We did this trip when we weren't able to ski for a day, and it ended up being my favourite experience of the whole trip! Would definitely recommend this anyone looking to try new experiences.
Absolutely loved this tour. It’s a 50min bus ride from Nozawa Onsen and then a 30-40 min walk through a beautiful forest to get to the monkey park which did not disappoint. The monkeys are super cute and are in the onsen and just generally walking around. Then we had a lovely tour with Rosella around a beautiful, preserved town called Shibu Onsen. Highly recommend.

I booked a last minute tour of the snow monkeys with this group.They were prompt. Entertaining. Tommy was our tour guide from Australia and he was high energy.The bus trip was informational and entertaining.The monkeys were fantastic and plentiful.Tommy recommended the apple pie (turnover) after the monkeys and he was not wrong.This is the tour group to use. They pick you up and drop you off. Highly recommended.
