弁天社の特徴
弁天社は17世紀後期の歴史ある建物です。
開山堂の南西に位置し、春日造の小社です。
相国寺境内にあり、弁財天を祀っています。
相国寺にあるだけで有り難い。
開山堂の南西にあり、南面して建つ春日造桟瓦葺の小社で、弁財天を祀っています。この弁財天は古来から御苑内久邇宮邸にその守護神として奉祠されていたが、明治十三年（１８８０）に同宮家が東京にご移転された時に、相国寺第１２６世獨園承珠（どくおんしょうじゅ）が同宮二品朝彦親王（くにのみやあさひこしんのう）より御寄進をうけられ、弁天講を組織して広く信仰を集めました。昭和三十二年（１９５７）にはこのいわれをもとに弁天講が復活されるが、現在活動はしていません。また現在の建物の建立年代は、細部から十七世紀後半と考えられています。当社は、明治四年（１８７１）の寺地画図に描かれず、基壇に明治の銘が見られるので移築建物であることが知られています。平成十九年（２００７）に京都府指定有形文化財となりました。（出典：相国寺HP）相国寺弁天社は一間社（いっけんしゃ）春日造（かすがづくり）の桟瓦葺（さんがわらぶき）です。Located in the southwest of Kaisando, it is a small shrine with a tiled roof of Kasuga-zukuri that is built facing the south and enshrines Benzaiten.This Benzaiten has been enshrined as its guardian deity at the residence of Prince Kuni-no-miya in the garden since ancient times, but when the palace was relocated to Tokyo in 1880, Shokokuji Temple 126th Ogino Dokuon (Do) Kuon Shoju) was donated by Prince Kuni-no-miya Asahiko Shinno, who organized the Benten-ko and gained widespread worship. In 1957 (Showa 32), Benzaiten Ko was revived based on this statement, but it is not currently active.The date of construction of the current building is considered to be the latter half of the 17th century from the details. Our company is known to be a relocated building because it is not drawn on the temple grounds of 1871 and the inscription of the Meiji era can be seen on the platform.It became a tangible cultural property designated by Kyoto Prefecture in 2007.(Source: Shokokuji HP)Sokokuji Benzaiten Shrine is a stile roof of Ikkensha Kasuga-zukuri.
