◆◆ Daikonya ( Nishijin Textile Weaving Workshop ) 大根屋 ◆◆District of Nishijin is the central hub of weaving industry developed in Kyoto. Of all the divided areas within Nishijin, Daikoku-cho is the very core of such local culture. Once you take a step inside the signiture stone path around this area, you would get the sense of being in a different atmosphere filled with traditional features. Just 3 doors next to Orinasukan toward north is a weaving workshop called Daikonya. They procuce fabric for special purposes. Most of their products are made for Japanese buddism rituals such as houi. Houi are the type of clothes worn by monks.
