瓢箪池の特徴
幻想的なライトアップに映える美しい紅葉が楽しめます。
東寺の五重塔を背景にした絶景のフォトスポットです。
池に映る風景が非常に綺麗で、訪れる価値ありの場所です。
池越しの五重塔が映えます。
ライトアップされた木々が映り込んでとても幻想的。綺麗な写真がたくさんとれます。
２０２４年秋１１月４週目の金曜日に伺いましたが、１、２週間紅葉🍁早かったです。（泣）
2024.12.6 夜間特別拝観瓢箪池に映る五重塔が見える場所は、写真撮影の列。ただ、待つだけの価値はあります。ライトアップの魔法にかかりました。全てが綺麗。
東寺の池に映った姿が、非常に綺麗です。
五重塔の前にあります周囲に幾つかベンチがあります。
水が流れていない為濁ってますかね。
五重塔を背景にした庭園風景が美しい、東寺人気のフォトスポットです。
東寺の瓢箪池はなぜ造られたのか？晴れた日には、池から顔を出している石の上にたくさんの亀が上がって、甲羅干しをしている景色を見ることができます。東寺が創建されたのは、平安時代でした。瓢箪池も、創建当時からあったと思われがちですが、造られた年代は、よくわかっていません。一説によると、防火用水の確保のためといわれていますが、確証はありません。傾いた五重塔瓢箪池が造られた理由については、興味深い話が残っています。江戸時代。京都に強風が吹きました。この強風で、なんと五重塔が傾いてしまいました。傾いた五重塔は、いったん解体し、もう一度建て直して現在のまっすぐな姿に戻したのだろうと思いますよね。でも、そのような作業をせずに五重塔は、まっすぐの姿に戻ったそうです。では、どうやって傾いた五重塔をまっすぐにしたのでしょうか。そのカギを握っているのが瓢箪池です。「傾いた五重塔を元に戻すには、反対側の地面に大きな穴を掘ってしまえば良いのではないか」そう考えて、実際に五重塔の北側に大きな穴を掘ったところ、南に傾いた五重塔が元に戻ったそうです。工事で掘られた穴には、その後、雨が降って水が溜まりました。これが、現在の瓢箪池だというわけです。でも、事実かどうかはわからないようで、謎も多く残っています。（出典：京都観光あれこれHPより）「ほんまかいな」というお話でした。大阪人なら「知らんけど」って言うやろな。（笑）Why was Toji Temple's Gourd Pond built?On sunny days, you can see many turtles drying their shells on the stones protruding from the pond. Then, how was the tilted five-storied pagoda straightened?"Hyotan Pond is the key to this."``In order to restore the tilted five-storied pagoda to its original position, it would be better to dig a large hole in the ground on the opposite side,'' he thought. It seems that the five-storied pagoda has been restored. The holes dug by the construction later became filled with water after it rained. This is the current Hyōtan Pond.
