I was part of a group of 5 that did a ski/split board touring trip through Whiteroom and they were experts! Showed us the proper way to ski in the Backcountry, and our guide, David was very friendly and an expert in the area. Most in our group rented Backcountry skis and split boards from the shop and they took the time and care to make sure everyone was set up properly and knew how to use the gear. We had many safety checks for avalanche danger and learned what to look out for. David drove us around to some of the good spots. First day we went to Mount Tokachi, and the second day we attempted to do the ropeway at Asahidake but the lift was closed due to winds. We ended up driving back to Tokachi and got a few laps in by the end of the day. Whiteroom also has great beer, coffee, ski shop, snacks and TRIVIA on Thursdays!! Whiteroom essentially was our Basecamp for our trip! Unforgettable trip all thanks to Whiteroom and our guide David!! Book the trip and give it a try!
First time visiting Furano and was looking to find somewhere to book snowboarding lessons. I came across Whiteroom and I had the most amazing experience!The entire booking process was seamless! The night before my instructor Liva messaged me to confirm the lesson and arrange our meeting point. I was very happy to know that she was able to meet me at my hotel and bring me to the mountain as I was not familiar with the area yet. I had booked two snowboarding lessons a few days apart and was happy to know I had the same instructor both days, as I felt like my instructor could see my progress over the course of a few days rather than start with a new instructor each time.I had the best time with Liva, she is an amazing instructor and just such a lovely person, I cannot recommend her enough! I was able to progress my skills so much over the two lessons and build my confidence. The feedback I received taught me the necessary fundamentals to bring my snowboarding skills to the next level!Will definitely use Whiteroom again next time I'm back in Furano!
Awesome and unique experience!Just finished a 14days backcountry ski tour with Whiteroom. Their guides (GB, Tay & Seb) were highly experienced and knowledgeable to find the best places to ski in fresh powder almost every day. Excellent organization, unique experiences, great people, big moments, authentic and incredible value for money.
Spent a week in Furano doing backcountry ski touring with guides from Whiteroom. Mitch and Owen led us to fantastic ski terrain to take advantage of the fresh snow. I’ve been skiing for 60 years, and these were the best powder turns of my life! Very good avalanche awareness (which they discussed and articulated, which I greatly appreciated).If you are in Furano to seek out great snow in the side country and backcountry, these guys will take great care of you!
Did a 2 week tour across Hokkaido, we skied awesome pow, ate amazing food, lots of laughs, and memories that will last a lifetime.I could write paragraphs about all the amazing things we did on the tour, but to sum it up, it was one of, if not the best tours I've been on. They made it incredibly enjoyable and stress free, and even outside of the skiing it was an amazing trip to experience the sites, eat at local restaurants, try different food, and make new friends.Will be back, no question about it!!
We spent a week in Furano the week before Christmas and were very lucky with the weather and even more lucky with our great ski instructors from Whiteroom. Me, my wife and the two kids (7 and 9) were all beginners and Liva taught us the basics and at the end we were able to get down the mountain - and out of the lift ;-) We had a great time and the kids desperately want to come back next winter again - to ski with Liva! One of the days we had lunch in Whiterooms "Base". Very good coffee and great sandwiches and soups. Another recommendation!

I have done two backcountry tours with Whiteroom, including one done in January this year. They have both been awesome trips. This year in particular the guides went above and beyond to make our trip extra memorable. They put a boat load of effort into planning not just our days, but our nights too. As well as taking us to some really cool spots to tour and ski, we went to a string of great restaurants. They very quickly assessed the capabilities of the whole group, and were not afraid to take us well off the beaten track to get to the best snow. Basically, we just had a wicked good time. Oh yeah, and the guides have some very cool and eclectic tastes in music, good vibes every morning when jumped in the vans. A great way to start every day!
