The best okonomiyaki in Kiso
Great and lovely place. Only 2 tables, each for up to 4 persons.Amazing okonomiyaki.We had the mochi cheese version, one with bonitos flakes and the other without. They were delicious.Owners do not speak much english but as long as you are willing to communicate with them through small sentences, simple words and gestures, they will be lovely and very helpful. They helped us cook the okonomiyaki since it was a first time.Also worth noting : their lemonade ginger ale was very good and they have a very interesting list of snacks. We had boiled salt peanuts, and they were surprisingly a great way to end our meal (very much to the surprise of the owners, i must say; this seems to be an unconventional choice).If we ever come back to this town, we will definitely have another meal here.
味は悪くはないんだけれどすごく口出ししながらメニューと載ってる焼き方と違うやり方したりマヨネーズの容器の出口を指で拭って舐めたりしてたおばちゃんだったのでもういいかな……
バーのママが引退してからやっているお好み焼き屋さん。80過ぎの人がやっているから多くを求めるな。ただ、ママさんのはなしは興味深い。木曽では他店舗にはない美味しいお好み焼きが食べられる。小さい店なので5人位で予約すれば貸し切りにしてくれる。
Un'esperienza indimenticabile! Una piccola gemma nascosta gestita da una dolcissima coppia di anziani, marito e moglie, che preparano okonomiyaki. Ogni piatto è cucinato con cura, passione e tanta esperienza. L'atmosfera è calda e familiare: sembra di essere ospiti a casa loro. Gli okonomiyaki sono saporiti e perfettamente bilanciati. Tornerò sicuramente!

An absolutely wonderful couple run this restaurant. They were so patient with me as I muddled through my Japanese to order my Nagoya style Okonomiyaki. I highly recommend the cheese mochi style. The owner and his wife were so thoughtful and considerate if you are in Kiso-Fukushima I can’t recommend this place enough just for its warm and inviting atmosphere and delicious food.
