We had a wonderful stay at the Whitehorse Hotel. The room, the food, and the onsen were all exceptional and far beyond our expectations.What truly set this hotel apart was the kindness and care shown by Tony and his team during an incredibly difficult time. Following a serious snowboarding accident, they went above and beyond to support us. Their compassion, patience, and willingness to help in every way possible made a world of difference.We are so grateful to have been in such a warm and supportive environment during such a challenging experience. We look forward to the day we can come back and share a drink with Tony to say thank you in person.
WHITE ROOM 2/4-2/8 2025So, like many others from Hawaii, we booked a last minute winter trip to Hakuba to board and ski. Our party consisted of myself, wife and (4) kids ranging from age 10-16. This was all our first time skiing in Japan. I usually research accommodations obsessively before trips but due to the timing, I basically booked White Horse because it said it could accommodate all of us. What I didn’t realize at the time was we by dumb luck landed in one of the most amazing boutique hotels I’ve ever experienced. The location, facilities & food were all incredible but what really made White Horse special was the staff and their leader Tony! From the second we arrived till the second we departed, they didn’t treat us like guest, they treated us like family! Each morning they would private shuttle us to a different mountain and then pick us up at what ever time we relayed. The area and conditions were so good, I don’t think I’ll ever go back to the states for skiing.10 out of 10The SiebringsKAUAI, HAWAII 🤙🏽

This was the best snow holiday my husband and I have ever had. Beautiful rooms, great food, relaxing onsen (which we booked private most evenings) and most importantly for us the best skiing ever. The first couple of days was deep powder snow, in fact the deepest i have ever skied in. Tony the owner took us to some amazing terrain where we hardly crossed a track all morning. 5 days into the trip he has invited us along to one of his road trips. Up early and out the door to what both of us have agreed to as our best day ever on the snow. Apparently Tony hears that a lot. We'll be back and we can recommend anybody who really loves skiing to stay at the Horse. There service is amazing and something very different to anything we have experienced.

They are your friends on a powder day. They are your link to the best restaurants in the village. They are your drinking buddies at the bar for apres. 2 years in a row now. This place is amazing. Tony promises the goods and he delivers every time. We had a late notice road trip last season to a secret spot that just blew us all away. Big rooms. awesome onsen, one of the best bars in town and the renovations with the new Mr Miyagi's restaurant was sensational. This is the place everyone should experience. It's like staying at your best friends holiday house. Thanks again Tony and staff for giving us the best holiday. We''ll be back.

Just spent 7 nights at The white Horse with our 2 teenage sons. We cannot recommend this place enough, Tony and all his workers were all so lovely to us. Being our first time to the snow it took all the worry away knowing they would drop us off in the morning & pick us up in the afternoon at the different surrounding ski resorts. Tony organised ski lessons for us & recommend a hire place within walking distance to supply all our gear. The cooked breakfast every morning was amazing & we also dined in the restaurant a few nights when we couldn’t be bothered going out again. All our meals were delicious & the kids agree they made the best hot chocolates. Plenty of places within walking distance for dinner & the pick up point for snow monkeys tour is just down the road. We didn’t hire a car & never felt we needed one. If we ever come back we would definitely stay here again, it felt like home.
