Appears to be closed. By the volume of snow out front, no one has been in there for a while.
Fantastic place! Great value for the set menu, and actually really good for vegetarian food to (set menu with Tempura Vegetables, etc.). Would definitely recommend, and planning on coming back later.
Great place. Very reasonably priced compared to quality. No credit cards. The Salmon Carpaccio starter was indeed excellent. We had sashimi and sukiyaki. Seems to be all private rooms which is nice.
Have eaten at Washiya twice this January. Fresh food, quickly prepared, reasonably priced. Great sashimi, sukiyaki, tempra... and the salmon carpaccio entree is really good 👍 You need to book (usually) and they only take cash payment. No cards. PS. It can be hard to find. Its across main road behind Hakuba bus station, next to small car rental sign.
we recently went to hukuba and were surprised at the australianized crap dining on offerwe were delighted to find Izakaya restaurant .From the street it doesn't look like much butwe had an excellent meal and service . Always lovely when a place far exceeds expectations !!
