横綱力士碑の特徴
横綱の名にふさわしい立派な石碑で迫力がありますね。
神社の裏側に位置しており、静かな環境が魅力的です。
江東区富岡の歴史的なスポットとして訪れる価値があります。
富岡八幡宮(深川八幡) Tomioka Hachiman Shrine, Monzen-nakacho (closest subway station)To the right of the main sanctuary through a short tunnel is the 横綱力士碑 Yokozuna Rikishi Monument, bearing the names of the 73 Grand Champions of Grand Sumo. (There is a 74th Yokozuna elevated after the January 2025 tournament. Not yet etched in stone when I visited in February.) The names are on the back of the monument. The first 45 Yokozuna are on the center stone, the 46th to 66th Yokozuna are on the stone to the right and the 67th to 73rd Yokozuna take up the top row of the stone to the left.To the left of the monument in the front is a pink column celebrating 超五十連勝力士碑 Rikishi with 50 consecutive wins.出羽海一門友愛之碑 Dewanoumi Ichimon “Fraternity” Monument (black monument on the right of Yokozuna monument).Elsewhere in the shrine's precincts are other Grand Sumo related monuments including an 大関力士碑 Ozeki Wrestler Monument/Panel with Edo Era Ozeki (top three rows) and the Meiji/Taisho Era starting on the bottom row.巨人力士手形足形碑 (Kyojin rikishi tegata ashigata-hi) [Giant rikishi's hand prints/foot prints monument](May 2016/Jan 2019)強豪関脇力士碑 (Kyōgō sekiwake rikishihi) [Powerful Sekiwake Wrestler Monument]
八幡様裏手にあります。とても大きな石碑なので、見応えあると思います！
横綱だけあって、立派な石碑ですね。
