Highly recommend Airbnb. Friendly and thoughtful owner. Clear and easy to communicate before our arrival. The apartment has ample space for kitchen, dining table, living area with convertible sofa bed..it is very clean, nicely decorated. It comes with a heater so it helps to keep us warm at night in November. It is a strategic town location for us to explore other towns. My kid and us enjoyed our 3 nights stay. Highly recommend.

Family-Friendly Stay in Biei – Highly RecommendedThis was a very last-minute trip to Japan with almost no planning.I came across photos of Biei on social media, checked accommodations, and this place happened to have availability, so I booked it right away. After staying here, I can honestly say this was not only the best accommodation of this trip, but one of the best places I have stayed in Japan. The host is incredibly kind and helpful. With advance notice, they can offer station pick-up when possible and also happy to help arrange taxis. These small but thoughtful details made our stay much easier.Check-in is simple and stress-free. The entrance uses a keypad lock, and guests arriving after 4:00 PM can easily self check-in and pick up the house key. There is a small yard in front of the house, which became one of the highlights for our kids. We spent two evenings playing there, and there is even a snowy slope next to the yard where children can slide and play. Our kids absolutely loved it.Inside, the house feels warm, comfortable, and very home-like.All daily necessities are well prepared. The bed and blankets were extremely comfortable, and I slept better here than at large city hotels. The kitchen is fully equipped. We bought ingredients from a supermarket near the station and cooked dinner together, which turned into one of the most memorable moments of our trip. There is also a washer and dryer, plenty of daily supplies, and a powerful traditional heater (not AC-style heating) that keeps the house very warm. Just be careful not to place clothes too close to the heater. The location is on a quiet street southwest of Biei Station. It is about a 15-minute walk to train station in snowy conditions, and Google Maps is fairly accurate. Without luggage, the walk is reasonable, even with kids. If needed, a short taxi ride is quick, easy, and inexpensive(about 680 janpan dollars).About a 5-minute walk away, across the bridge, there is a local Hokkaido convenience store, Seco Mart, with surprisingly good ready-to-eat meals. There is also a small nearby park with deep snow where we had a lot of fun playing, though caution is needed. From there, it is about a 10-minute flat walk to the station with sidewalks. There are some restaurants nearby the station, but lunchtime is the safest option. After 8:30 PM, most restaurants are closed or sold out, with no late-night food and hardly anyone around. However, the area around Biei Station at night is extremely quiet and surprisingly beautiful. If it gets cold, you can step into the station waiting room to warm up.One evening, I even took a short train ride toward the Furano area just to walk around. Walking in the snow was challenging, but it became a special and memorable experience for me.As for sightseeing in Biei, the streets around the station are already beautiful. Daytime can be a bit busy, but daytime and nighttime each have their own charm. The famous Christmas Tree spot is accessible by bus, but due to its popularity online, it was extremely crowded. The photos look great, but the crowds take away from the experience.I also visited some countryside tree spots by hiring a taxi for half a day. The individual spots themselves were not particularly impressive, but driving through endless snowy roads was beautiful on its own. If you hire a taxi, I recommend letting the driver choose the route instead of focusing on specific famous spots.Regarding the famous Blue Pond, visiting during the day felt fairly ordinary. If possible, visiting in the late afternoon and staying until after the lights turn on would likely be a better experience.Overall, this is a comfortable, quiet place with a strong home-like feeling. It is perfect for travelers who want to slow down and truly experience Biei.Even after moving on to Tokyo for our connecting flight, I kept thinking about the time we spent here.Highly recommended, and I truly hope to return again someday.
