Coffee with free refills and a delicious slice of orange cheesecake... for under 2 US dollars. Lovely atmosphere too—the huge windows let in lots of sunlight, and the interior is clean and cute. The quiet vibe and large amount of seating makes it a great place to journal and write. From what I've gathered by reading translated reviews and speaking to the staff, this cafe is an extension of a school for kids with special needs, and is staffed by students and faculty alike. Overseen by one of their teachers, the wait staff—comprised of the school's high school students who are getting exposure to socialization in a work context—is diligent, dedicated, and earnest.Don't come here for "perfect" service where the staff is fluent in English and has telepathy or whatever. There are plenty of other places in Japan that can scratch that itch if you have it. Come here for the delicious food (prepared by a professional pastry chef), the free coffee refills, the lowest prices you'll find in any nice cafe probably ever, and to support the school and its students while enjoying a slice of cake and a lovely view.
Dieses kleine Café wird von Lehrpersone und Schüler betrieben. Die Schüler werden im Service und in der Kommunikation (auch in Englisch) angeleitet. Wir fühlten uns in dem Café sehr wohl und würden jederzeit wieder hingehen. Danke für die nette Bedienung.
このご時世、ドリンクとケーキのセットで300円はとてもありがたいです＾＾それに、ドリンクもケーキも美味しい！（コーヒーはおかわり可なのも嬉しい）。支援学校の生徒さんの学習や職業訓練の場も兼ねているようです。地元にもこんな場所があったらいいのになぁと強く思いました。
Je suis tombé dessus en baladant dans le quartier, c’est un café tenu par une école et le service est offert par les enseignants et les étudiants pour une sorte de pratique sociale. Tout le monde est très aimable, les étudiants essaient de mémoriser tous les keigo (forme de politesse etc.) le gâteau et le café sont correct avec un prix très raisonnable. En endroit agréable!
We stopped here a few days ago and had a great time 😊!The cakes and drinks were very good, and the staff absolutely adorable. They made an effort to speak in English and were really nice and professional. It was a real pleasure
お店の中は天井が高く広々していて開放的お天気がいい日は花壇のお花をみながら芝生のあるテラス席がオススメです。ケーキとドリンクのセットがなんと300円！！この美味しさこの雰囲気この接客でこのお値段は最高すぎです！！一生懸命接客してくれる子どもたちもかわいいです！
養護学校の生徒さんたちを中心に運営されているカフェ。いろいろな人たちが手がけたマグ、美味しいケーキ、北向きなのに広い大きな窓のおかげでとても明るい。ゆっくり過ごすのにとてもいい場所。、
支援学校の学生の社会体験のための施設なのだが、本格派のパティシエが協力しているので味は一級品。ここと近所の「カフェなづな」では、格安で一流店の味を楽しめる。そのかわり接客はそれなり。暖かく見守ってほしい。地元民にとっては、高めの店に入る観光客を横目にこの店を利用しているような感じかも。
Great little cafe did not know about it till I was handed and advert for it. Definitely would reccomend it. The staff are the school students and teachers they are very friendly and kind. It will be nice to go back here because of the great food and friendly atmosphere

We stumbled across this cute little cafe while staying at the nearby Guesthouse Soi (also a five-star review!) The coffee sets were delicious and unbelievably affordable at ¥300 per person! The cheesecake was terrific, as were the scones with house-made jams. The coffee was excellent, and comes with a free refill!The best part about the cafe is that is run by students from the Kyoto Municipal Higashiyama Comprehensive Support School. The students gave the cafe a wonderful, youthful energy, and their earnestness was endearing and made the our morning there memorable—a highlight of our stay in Kyoto.A perfect spot for breakfast or afternoon tea. The space is flanked by windows and is a quiet respite from the cars and pedestrian. Support a good cause and partake in a slice of local life!
