Fantastic experience. We had a great time seeing Japan in a different and fun way, driving awesome cars. Everyone at Drivers Lounge was friendly and knowable and provided an unforgettable experience. Booking and communication was good, no issues with finding the meetup spot and no wasted time on the day of our drive. Highly recommend and we will do this anytime we come back to Japan!
Got this as a gift from my fiancé for my birthday. Was pretty nervous at first, because I am not used to driving on the other side of the road. You get used to it pretty quickly though.Everything was well taken care of, from the beginning till the end; pick up at the station and bringing us back at the end as well. I got to drive four cars; R32 GTR, RX7, R35 GTR and S660. All cars were extremely fun to drive and you get plenty of time in each of them. The one thing I loved is the information/facts the guide gives you through the intercom systems when you are driving somewhere. Also ending the day by going to Daikoku and seeing all the pretty cars was amazing. We had the perfect day as well, with perfect weather (all cars had AC, thank god). Fuji-san was visible and we had a pretty sunset when driving home (with Fuji visible). Was a very fun experience, definitely recommended if you are into JDM cars.
Amazing tour - Don't sleep on the kei cars!I signed up for the "Yabitsu Touge Kei Attack Tour" and I'm so glad I did. This tour requires that you take the only two kei cars in the fleet, the Honda S660 and the Suzuki Alto Works. The Yabitsu pass is a great road. It's small and windy, so you don't need much speed to start pulling g's and feeling the sensation of speed. The route has good scenery and the narrow road is the perfect setting for kei cars. The two kei cars are both satisfying to drive and special in their own right. I don't have much interest in prestige from limited edition cars from tuning shops, but both the Honda and Suzuki are rewarding and intuitive to drive. The cars are quick and you never feel like you need more power for the road. Both are well balanced and fun. Spoon and Monster Works did a fantastic job modifying these cars.Clement is a knowledgeable and passionate guide who inspires confidence with his familiarity of his tour routes. Everything about the tour feels well prepared. It would be nearly impossible to get lost on the tour. In addition to following a guide car, each car is equipped with its own phone with navigation already running. And finally, each driver gets a headset for live communication with the whole group. The only hiccup I had in the whole process was that it wasn't clear to me whether or not passengers need to register as an additional paying participant. Non-driving passengers do not pay and Clement made sure to refund my overpayment. This is a shorter tour, which means less cost and time to do other things at the end of the day. My wife and I finished our tour by 4pm and were able to find a food spot that she had been wanting to visit for dinner.I found the Driver's Lounge kei car experience much more enjoyable than driving the many mountain and canyon roads already available to me in Southern California. Having a guide lead at an ideal time of day in a scenic, generally secluded area alleviated the stress that I normally associate with spirited drives on mountain roads. If you're someone who doesn't feel the need to drive GT-R's or try to live out Initial D, the kei car tour offers a much more unique and rewarding experience.
If you’re a car lover and love an experience highly recommend choosing drivers lounge. The cars were really well setup and drove great, the guides speak great English, they made the whole process of following them easy and organized. The stopping points for pictures were great. The EVO 6 was an amazing experience driving a Jdm hero car and the Suzuki kei car was a really fun. Also ended the tour at daikoku during times when locals go was really great before the other tours start flooding in. You can knock out a lot of car things in one day with this company.
It was a great pleasure to be guided by Josh the other day on our tour. The cars were absolutely amazing — I especially loved the RX-7. Coming all the way from Australia to experience that drive made it even more special.Josh guided us really well and made sure everyone enjoyed both the drive and the cars. He explained everything thoroughly, kept the experience safe, and made the whole tour unforgettable. Highly recommend!
I highly recommend going on a tour with these guys, easily my favorite day of driving ive ever had. Super easy to get to by train in Tokyo, they meet you at noborito station then once everyone is there drive you to their shop for a quick briefing before heading out for the day. On the day I went we took out the r32, r35, and rx7. Was an absolute blast cruising the roads of hakone. Im sure ill be back on my next trip through Japan.
Recently I went on a tour with Clement from drivers lounge and I rented their s15 for the 3 hour daikoku tour. I actually booked this tour very last minute but clement had great communication throughout the whole process. This was my first time doing a driving tour/renting a car in Japan and I couldn’t recommend it enough. I would recommend this tour or drivers lounge specifically because being that I’m from the USA, driving in Japan is way different. But wearing the headset and having a pro guide me throughout the tour really provided confidence during the tour and assured I and the car stayed safe. Drivers lounge fleet was all very clean and the car felt very solid. I would absolutely recommend touring with them.
Did the Hakone-Izu tour. Cannot express enough how wonderful of an experience this was. From booking to briefing to driving every part was well thought out and exceptional. Vibes were immaculate. Josh our guide is exactly what you’re looking for in an experience like this - responsible but not afraid to have some fun.Cars are all in great shape, however please know that 30 year old cars will do 30 year old car things (seat belt holder might rattle-some trim might be worn, if you’ve ever owned one of these cars this won’t phase you) but they all drive exceptionally well. Mechanically perfect with really well sorted suspension set ups.Lunch spot was super cute and a very respectable meal for the cost.Scenery was stunningMy girlfriend came with me and she had a blast. The group we had out was really sweet.I’d recommend this over renting a single car and going out on your own. Having someone who knows the roads, the local conditions, and when and where to let loose was invaluable.Just book it.
Had a fantastic experience with Drivers Lounge! It's always been a dream of mine to drive iconic JDM cars on Japan's famous roads. Driver's Lounge made that dream a reality. From start to finish the tour was smooth and exceeded my expecations in every way.The key difference between Drivers Lounge and other car rental/tour companies is being able to drive multiple cars on a single tour instead of just one. In our case it was the DC5 Type R, RX-7, R35 GTR, and Suzuki Alto. Getting seat time in all these cars made the tour that much better.I enjoyed this tour so much that I'll probably do it again next time I visit Japan!

The Hakone and Izu tour was an incredible experience. I was able to drive the RX-7, R32 GTR, and Silvia S15, three of my all-time favorite cars. The roads were the most fun driving experience I've had, the views were amazingly beautiful, and the staff were friendly and informative. Our guide, James, was knowledgeable about the cars, the area, and car culture in general. I absolutely plan on visiting again, and encourage everyone with an interest in togue and Japanese car culture to give these guys your business.
